circulation problems?

Posted by bonnie on October 29, 1998 at 16:42:52:

I have been having reaccurant "angina attacks" or something of the sort. Last month, I had 3 attacks and this month 2 attacks. I get severe pressure in my chest, which is very painful. Sometimes it has also radiated to my right shoulder and down my right arm. I have also at times have had pain on the right side of my face along with pain in my teeth on the right side of my mouth. I have shortness of breath. These attacks have lasted between 30 to 45 minutes. Afterwards I am tired and sometimes after an attack and I lie down I feel and sometimes hear a clicking noise in my chest. I went to the doctor today (it was 2 weeks ago that I had my last attack)...and the EKG turned out normal. He wants me to take this other test (I forgot what it is called) but we will be able to tell if I have a circulation problem. What do you think? Bonnie

Dear Bonnie,

This is almost certainly costochondritis, asociated with TMJ and "bracing of most (if not all) of your upper body muscles.

If it were me, I would call rthe nearest Certified Rolfer and have a consultation. I would probably also proceed with any NON-INVASIVE cardiac testing in the meantime--although I would bet that all THAT testing will be negative.

Remember that, if one walked down the street and grabbed people randomly (who had NO cardiac symptoms at all) that the majority would have some blockage of their coronary artreries. If enough tests are done, you have a good chance that something like that will be found--even though it has NOTHING to do with your symptoms.

Don't let anyone stampeed you into something you will regret. Conventional medical treatment is now the forth most common cause of death in the country.

Walt
