Dear Dr. Stoll
I recently posted a message on 5/29/00 re: to my problem with A-Fib. In your archives a poster Frank C. on 9/2/99 refers to the Head of Cardiology at Georgetown University and his claim to rid you of A-Fib forever. He lists a web page http:/members.aol.com/mazern/mazefaq.htm
I tried accessing this site but with no success. This claim of ridding A-Fib forever certainly merits a further look. Could you please look at my post and offer any suggestions.
Thank you

See below Corrected link that works!
From that FAQ:
The Maze procedure is a surgical intervention that cures atrial fibrillation (AF) by interrupting the circular electrical patterns that are responsible for this arrhythmia. Strategic placement of incisions in both atria stops the formation and the conduction of errant electrical impulses and channels the normal electrical impulse in one direction from the top of the heart to the bottom. Scar tissue generated by the incisions permanently blocks the travel routes of the electrical impulses that cause AF, thus eradicating the arrhythmia. The major advantage the Maze procedure offers over other less-invasive forms of therapy is that it corrects all three problems associated with AF.
RHJ++ Observation:
I'd personally spend a LOT of time here learning about and practicing non-invasive solutions to AF before I'd ever submit to his invasive "therapy".
Does anyone really think that AF a deficiency of scar tissue??!!??

Hi, John.
Unles the "Head of Cardiology at Georgetown University" is into holistic medicine, I doubt very much his claim of "forever". If he IS into holistic medicine, he will soon be out of a job and lose his license to practice medicine!
There is presently no know cure without getting rid of the causes. See the archives about this. I would have nothing better to offer.
If you still have questions after looking at the archives, ask away.

Jim:
Since it took me a while to catch the source of your title suggestion, I wanted to highlight it just a little for others to see and to comment on and to come up with their suggestions.
