Dr. Stoll:
I looked through your posts could not find an answer.
I am taking magnesium for A-fib Glycinate 800mgs.
I have been getting cramps, burning in lower stomach it also seems to increase my Acid reflux!!
Is this a common side effect, should I lower the dose?
Or wait it out??
I do notice magnesium has a positive effect on heart rate # BP!!
Thx
Paul

When I was getting magnesium intravenously...I had terrible burning in my abdomen. The doctor said it was normal. No problem with reflux though.

To Beegs:
Thank you for your input, I have been taking about 800mgs magnesium for BP, but I also have Acid reflux.
Do you also have gerd? Have you found that the magnesium increases your reflux? I not sure is there is a direct corelation but my reflux feels worse!!
Thx
Paul

Hi, Paul.
You could be sensitive to the glycinate. Try a different molecule (aspartate or orotate) and see how you do. Also, sometimes switching the manufacturer will help something like this.
Let us know what you find out.
