I'm so glad to have discovered this excellent site-I've found it most helpful.
However despite looking thru the archives there are two issues that I'd like to explore further.
I was fitted with a pacemaker six years ago to correct a slow heartbeat and this has been a great success.
However since then Ihad AF and take fecinide to help control the symptoms which can be quite terrifying.
Fortunately I only have 6/7 a year but yhe last two have been particularly nasty.
My two points are;
1)what shoud one do DURING an AF episode to help control the symptoms and or to shorten the episode?
2)I've noticed a strong correlation with the AF episode and high temperature and humidity in the atmosphere.
Has anybody else noticed this or is it a poosible side effect of the medication?
I hope you can help.
Many thanks.

Thanks, David.
The only 2 things you have mentioned as management are ones that simply suppress the condition; not do anything about why you should have such symptoms.
What have you done about stress-effect management and your intracellular magnesium levels?
The 2 questions you have asked here can only be answered by your supreessive experts. Have you asked?
Of course, the environmental conditions you mentioned have ALWAYS been associated with cardiac stress!
Hope this helps.

Many thanks for your quick response.
I don't know too much about stress effect management but I'll check out the archives for more info.
Are you suggesting that this may relieve the actual episode of AF?
Following my visits to your website I'm now taking 300mg per day of magnesium in tablet form as an experiment.
I'll let you know how it goes.
Kind regards,
David Henley.

Hi, David.
Both SR and magnesium deal with why you have this problem. Neither will do anything for an actual episode. Keep a record on your calendar of episodes and how long they last and you will begin to notice that they are further and further apart and last shorter and shorter times. If you do both correctly, I will bet that you will have no more episodes within a year.
Let us know what you experience.
