CARPAL TUNNEL LINKED TO THYROID DISEASE

FYI: CARPAL TUNNEL LINKED TO THYROID DISEASE

New research shows that undiagnosed hypothyroidism may be a major cause of
carpal tunnel syndrome, the painful disease of hand and wrist that's the
bane of modern office workers. Thyroid Disease Guide Mary Shomon reports.

Dear Greg,

This may well be so. However, I think it much more likely that this is another example of the simplistic thinking of the allopathic paradigm. This is such a common mistaken kind of thinking in the conventional medical monopoly that there is even a latin phrase describing it ( I responded to something like this a few weeks age that triggered this same thought); "Ergo Sum, Propter Hoc Ergo Sum" (or something like that). It means something like: "this is present with that therefore this is caused by that".

The carpal tunnel is related to the bracing and the thyroid is related to the endocrinopathy that commonly will result if the bracing warning is ignored.

From what I know now, both these conditions are related to the hypothalamus' seething stress-effect storage. They have nothing, directly, to do with each other. BUT, because they both can show up as messages about the basic problem, at the same time, I can see someone looking at the trees instead of the forest making a statement like that.

It is interesting that surgical repair of the carpal tunnel NEVER relieves the thyroid condition AND conventional treatment of the thyroid never resolves the carpal tunnel. This, while resolving the hypothalamic overload will clear both at the same time.

Time will tell.

Walt

Not only is it the simplistic thinking of allopathic medicine but it is, as you stated, fallacious.

My favorite adage for allopathic medicine. "Often in error, never in doubt."

Here's the "hoc" you were talking about. I believe this is a case of "post hoc".

One of the rules of causal arguments is that the cause must precede the effect in time. In other words, for A to
cause B, it is necessary for A to precede B in time. But it is not sufficient. Just because A precedes B in
time--and even if A precedes B every time--does not prove that A causes B. Arguing that "A preceded B, and
therefore A caused B" is a fallacy called post hoc or false cause reasoning. The former term is short for the Latin
phrase, post hoc ergo propter hoc, meaning "after this, therefore because of this."

This article showed up in my mailbox. I didn't read the article
all the way through, and don't have the medical expertise
to evaluate if it was bona-fide or not. It looked interesting,
so I decided to share it. My applogies.

Sincerely

I might have known that you could bail me out here. I SINCERELY appreciate it.

Dear Greg,

ABSOLUTLEY no apologies needed!

At the very least you gave me an opportunity to make the point about the simplistic thinking from the bankrupt allopathic paradigm that extends into so many of our chronic conditions.

The resolution to MANY of those conditions requires a different WAY of thinking---not just MORE thinking!

Namaste` Walt

Dr. Stoll,

For some reason, your statement, "The resolution to MANY of those conditions requires a different WAY of thinking---not just MORE thinking!" brought to mind a hilarious situation I witnessed in Chicago between a french tourist and an american - they of course spoke different languages, and as they were struggling to communicate directions or something, the american kept talking LOUDER! I still laugh about it...

be well!
