Fatigue after a cold

Posted by Nutmeg on May 07, 2002 at 19:36:58:

Three days into my vacation, I came down with a nasty cold. I picked up something on the plane, I'm sure, since I forgot to do/take a couple of things that I know would have protected me better. During the week-long trip, I took the best care of myself that I could. I didn't sleep very well (not uncommon for me), but I took the supplements I had with me, although I wished for more. I did eat the right kinds of food. I felt lousy from the cold symptoms, but I did manage to maintain my energy so I could get some fresh air and do some easy hikes. I've been home a week and my symptoms are almost gone, but I am very fatigued. I realize that I've had a lot of work to do fighting off the bugs, but is there anything I can do now to regain my strength and energy? I go to bed earlier than normal and am taking it easy the rest of the day, but I'm really flagging. Seems like I should be back to near-normal by now. I'd slacked off on my amino acid supplement and Seacure since coming home, but I started taking those again today, in case they are what I'm missing. Any other suggestions?

Hi, Nutmeg.

It is now generally accepted that viral infections can "permanently" reset the homeodynamics of an individual.

Let us hope that this has not happened here.

Your best defence against that (or to reverse it if it happens) is serious wellness till at least a month after one has reverted to the previously normal homeodynamic.

Let us know how you do.

Walt
