Re: Carotid Arteries

My Dad was prescribed Ginko Biloba and some homoeopathic remedies for his blocked carotid arteries. Within 2 months the worst side which was approx. 70-80 percent blocked was down to 50 percent. He was afraid to have the surgery which he was told had the same risk as doing nothing. He could not sit around doing nothing so went to a naturopath. Before he went to the naturopath his mental outlook was very depressed, sensitive and pessimistic. The first thing we noticed was a dramatic improvement in his mental outlook.
Of course the allopathic specialist was stunned to see an improvement as he had told him there was nothing much could be done, he had to double check the results, then my Dad told him he had been taking Ginko Biloba and wondered if that might have helped!!

Thanks Gillian.

All of the recent research agrees with your dad's assessment. Surgery, for this condition, seems to cause more harm than good.

Isn't it interesting how our MD monopoly works? We only recommend stuff that only WE can do? "To a hammer, everything looks like a nail!"

Were I your dad, I would do 2 things:
A. Read anything by Pritikin or Ornish (Ornish copied his stuff from Pritikin) & DO it.
B. Call (800) 532-3688 about Chelation and read about it on the FAQ page for this 'site. Have him read "Bypassing Bypass" by Dr Cranton--referenced in my note about it.

My mother had exactly what he still has. Even though the herbs have helped a lot, I have yet to see them prevent recurrence of this problem. I would not stop what has so obviously helped, I just wouldn't stop there.

Let us know how he does. I would be happy to answer any more questions he might have right here on this BB.

Please Tell me About Ginkgo Biloba

Gillian:

My mother had surgery for one side of her carotid arteries about 1 year ago. Her other side is still very blocked (I dont remember now but I think it is about 70% blocked).

I would like to know how many tablets of Ginkgo Biloba your father used and what the strength was. Please tell me as much as possible about the strength because sometimes it is not too clear. (for example for "circulation and general well being" I take 1 tablet/day of "24% extract containing 60 mg of ginkgo bilova").

Also, could you provide more information about the hoemopatic remedies?

Thank you for your help

Antonio

PS. If you know the name brands I would like to know them. Sometimes Dr. Stoll does not want to see name brands here, so feel free to use my e-mail address.

Dear Antonio,

She needs Chelation. See the FAQ page & get the resources to her.

Dear Dr. Stoll:

I agree with you, but I am having a hard time convincing her. She talks to other people (that know nothing about chelation) and gets convinced that a non-approved procedure is a no-no for her. Even if she IS NOT happy with her doctor she does does not want to change doctors. I tried to get her to change doctors about 6 months ago but she went back to her old doctor. I thought that maybe the Ginkgo Biloba would do some good for her.

She is coming to PA to see me next month. Maybe I could find her a doctor over here that could explain the procedure to her.

Will keep you informed.

On a different area: Do you think the Ginkgo Biloba would do anything to "keep good circulation and general well being" in otherwise healthy people? I am talking about my wife and I. We take a daily tablet, like I put in my posting, but I don't know if we are wasting our money or doing any good?

Thank you, in advance, & regards.

Antonio

Dear Antonio,

One can only open doors.

The Ginko might help for a while. It is not likely to cause her any harm. This is too complex to predict and the human bodymind is still the best laboratory to see if something will help.

In other words, why not give it a try? If she misses the opportunity that Chelation would be for her, it is a shame. However, you can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make him drink!
