Hats off to Chiropractic Care!...

Posted by SueBoo on June 25, 2002 at 08:02:18:

I posted on May 30th about a problem I was having with sciatica and that due to the NON-help received from my family doctor, I sought out the help of a chiropractor.

I'm here to give a follow-up report. I've completed the initial phase of care (Acute phase) which entailed going 3 x a week for adjustments/ultrasound. Last night I had my progress examination and did very well. My range of motion has improved tremendously and the pain (horrible!) I was experiencing in my hip and leg, plus the pins and needles, have diminished to a great degree. I will receive the formal report tomorrow, will be given some exercises to do and will, without a doubt, enter the next phase of care which they classify here (Canada) as the Rehabilitative/Corrective Care.

Once I have completed that phase, I definitely plan to continue with what they call Maintenance/Wellness.

For those who are skeptical about Chiropractic care (and I definitely fit in that category prior to all of this)I urge you to put your skepticism aside. I, for one, am so impressed with the help I have received thus far, and will continue to receive, and what I have learned in the process, both about the function of the spine and the importance of having a healthy one because it affects the entire body, plus the fact that I have/had problems with mine that, at the age of 56, I was never aware of.

I never knew that I had scoliosis (thoracic), nor did I know that I had 'several' subluxations, one shoulder higher than the other and the opposite hip higher than the other. BTW..as of last night...my shoulders are now even again. :-)

Apologies that this is so long, but I wanted to share my experience and state again that I have become a true believer of chiropractic care providing, of course, like anything else, you find the 'right' chiropractor. One more thing...if you happen to have osteopororis (which I do) and that adds to any fear you may have of having adjustments done, lay those fears aside. :-))

I agree wholeheartedly, Soo. Chiropractic has made my life much more enjoyable, as well as that of my family. My husband hurt his back really badly some years ago and was referred to a surgeon. He decided on chiropractic instead and did not require surgery. Chiropractors are also more wellness-oriented and believe in nutrition. Nutrition has solved some major concerns in my life. E-mail me if you want to compare notes.

Thanks, SueBoo (& Cheezi too)

Nothing like pain to get a person thinking, is there?

Your testimonial may help others to begin breaking out of the shackles the AMA has put this population in.

Welcome to a wider world!

Namaste`

This couldn't be more true. And, when you are finally free of those bonds, some can expect doubt, worry, overwhelm, confusion and sometimes wanting those bonds back on. But, I see from other people here that with perserverence, you can get through that stage.
