Follow-up on child's sinus

Dr. Stoll,

I forgot to mention that the docs are talking about removing my daughter's adnoids in order to cure her of her chronic sinusitus. They really can't explain why this would help, but say they have found the removal to be benificial. Why is this?

Hi Pete,

Have you experimented with a complete and TOTAL elimination of dairy? For some kids, this is all it takes to break the constant sinus cycle. You are wise to want to avoid the antibiotics and to search for answers before subjecting your child to surgery. Have you spent much time in the archives on this subject?

If you have not already, please consider giving her probiotics to replace all the beneficial bacteria that has been destroyed by the antibiotics.

I second the suggestion on dairy elimination. My teenage daughter was completely addicted to milk, and experienced sinus problems which developed into chronic, almost daily, migraines. One of the things her chiropractor did was take her off dairy. He also helped her sinuses through manipulation and massage. Even now, if she comes down with a virus, a trip to see him clears things up right away. You might try to find a really good chiropractor, preferably one who practices applied kinesiology (muscle testing). Ours saved my sanity and my daughter's health. She also has the biggest tonsils in the world, according to her doctors, but I wouldn't let them take them out. After two CAT scans and seeing every specialist in the book, she's doing fine now, thanks to her chiropractor. (It's often easier to get children to comply with this kind of drastic action, if they hear it from their doctors, not their parents. I imagine you'd find a lot of chiros who would suggest eliminating milk. If you live in the San Diego area, his name is Scott Sebastian).

Best of luck,

Penny

Thanks, Penny.

Would that the conventional medical monopoly be so smart. Of course they seem to be more interested in protecting their monopoly than they are in their patient's welfare.

I can't agree with you more, Dr. Stoll. It's seems there are few doctors who are really dedicated to healing anymore. They're about as concerned for our health as the kid behind the counter at McDonalds.

Unfortunately, seeing my daughter in excruciating pain almost every day, and being terrified when the next headache would hit, made it difficult for me to give up on conventional medicine with her. We were so desperate we tried every drug they prescribed, and became completely confused (and probably sicker) in the process.

What was so refreshing and wonderful about our chiropractor (we interviewed three) was the way he took her seriously. After his first examination, he declared that we were in a state of emergency, that there was absolutely no way that she should go on living like this, and that she needed to be back in school where she belonged. He made her a partner in the process, encouraging her to make decisions and take the steps necessary for getting well. He saw her every day for the first week, and she developed a tremendous confidence in him. The experience was also empowering to me as it validated my mother's intuition, whereas our previous physicians had ignored or belittled the comments and questions I had. Doctors could really use a page from his book, I believe.

I also believe that doctors work for the insurance companies now, not their patients. It's incredibly sad. It's not going to be long though, before they wake up one day and wonder where all their patients went. They're digging their own graves, because more and more people are refusing to put up with their nonsense (or pay for it!).

Dr. Stoll, what you're doing here makes a huge difference, because you ARE a trained physician, and yet you're standing up and pointing out the errors of conventional medicine, while showing people how to help themselves. There are very few doctors out there with that kind of courage. You provide an incredible humanitarian service and I for one would like to thank you very much.

Thanks, Penny.

Only a monopoly could get away with the sloppy service the allopaths are offering. Only the awareness you are getting can destroy that monopoly.

Namaste`
