Cured! Chiropractic did it :)

Posted by michele [2503.2969] on June 29, 2007 at 17:44:36:

Hi everyone,

Well, after more days of suffering with the weird ear thing and feeling
draggy - it all ended up being my jaw out of alignment...he prod and
pulled and massaged and hit pressure points, with muscle testing
first and lo and behold, my sinus drained, my ear drained and I feel
like a bazillion bucks!
He even massaged and moved the stomach area per the indigestion
that was all related. I love chiropractic!!!!

If you ever have ANY ailment, do try a good chiro!!!

How do you find one?

Michele you said "If you ever have ANY ailment, do try a good chiro!!!"

How does one find a "good chiro" that will look at the big picture? I wouldn't be able to tell a plain "bone cracker" from a holistic chiro.

Did you have to ask a bunch of questions before you established a relationship with them?

I had years of bone crackers until I found this guy - this guy does
MORE of pressure points and really does a naturopathic approach than
even simplistic chiropractic...

I have to figure it out; my head was hurting so much I could only spend
limited time at the computer and tried to get work in there also... now I
feel great Thank God.

Michele,
I'm interested in finding a good chiropractor too. Ddi you just pick and choose and just finally find a good one? Do you think it's a good idea for me to call and ask certain questions, such as "does your office do a lot of presure points"? Any other things that made this chiropractor more special than the others?

I'm really interested b/c I have been kind of scared and hesitant to see one, but now I think I'm ready but i'd like to do some research first but don't know where to start.

Also, did yours do xrays? I REALLY want to avoid xraying if at all possible.

My chiro only does xrays if he feels someone truly may have a broken
bone. He never even brought it up to me OR my husband in spite of
my husband having intense pain.

I did visit folks but I would call around and ask to speak to the
doctor, not the receptionist. Ask what the practice consists of; if they
say "a combination"... then I'd be more apt to use them rather than
someone who just used a certain style of chiropractic or started
spouting off their college or professional affiliations (which tells you
nothing).
If you are in PA OR if you want to see if my doc has a reference for
you in your area (he may) his name is Mitchell Merriam at Chirpractic
Arts in Downingtown (don't know the # but if you google that it will
tell you)... he is amazing and probably knows people of the same
mindset in your region.

It is worth a longer drive to get someone who really facilitates
healing.

I actually did it the long, hard way, and hit almost every local
chiropractor (about five) before finding this one. THis guy has helped
my son when other MDs could not, figured out my daughters
alignment issue when others could not pinpoint the cause of her knee
pain, and saved my husband from a back operation. For me, he has
done it all from getting rid of headaches, to helping me when I
thought I needed an operation and so on. Really amazing.
He even helped me after I had a stomach bug; I felt still quesy and I
had to bring my husband in (his back) and he worked on me and
found my ill. valve was open (causing issues) - did a quick
adjustment in my gut area and in 20 minutes I was eating again and
feeling great. In fact, in retrospect, it may not have been a stomach
bug at all but alignment issue per stress!

Hi michele,

If he could tell you exactly what his techniques are called, where he learned them, his CV, or any referrals in other states... this would be helpful in finding someone who may do those same things. Please pass this info along if you could.

Thanks!

bree

My girlfriend is starting chiropractic school this year. 3 years from now, she'll be cracking spines :) I love chiropractic too, so I'm pretty excited that she chose this career path.
