anyone out there know of any studies done on switching from straight niacin to inositol hexanacotinate(no flush) and a possible period of time needed to adjust? I was taking 500mg 3x a day of niacin and got down from 260 to 198 cholesterol level. I had read where the no flush was even better at lowering and so started a Twinlab no flush of 640mg niacin/160mg inositol tabs 3x a day and after a week my cholesterol reading was back up to 260.?? Thanks in advance for any info.

Take a look at http://www.ravnskov.nu/cholesterol.htm and think about if you really need to be concerned with your cholesterol level.

Hi, Bob.
Listen to R. and look at the cholesterol archives. High cholesterol is NOT a niacin deficiency!
It has been MY understanding that the flush was necessary for the effect.
