IS IT TIME FOR STATINS?

Posted by Dman on September 30, 1999 at 21:50:02:

Cholesterol 275, HDL low, LDL very high, Uric Acid high.

This result is one year old, after prolonged heavy alcohol consumption. Current condition is reasonable diet, no alcohol and fair amount of vigorous exercise.

What to do if next tests don't reveal significant improvement.

Hi, Dman.

I have yet to see a person who did not have normal cholesterol and triglycerides after 6 months of the practice of SR, regular exercise, a 10% fat diet (see the Pritikin Program in your library) and supplementation with essential oils to help metabolize the cholesterol and triglycerides (se the article on the homepage for this'site).

See the glossary for any unfamiliar terms.

THEN, if you still have questions, write again. As your system becomes normal, please share your experiences with this BB.

Walt

By the way, dman.

The company that makes "Cholestatin" (the red rice fungus extract that has been used for thousands of years in Chinese Herbal Medicine for reversing heart disease at least partially by lowering bad cholesterol---AND available without prescription) has just won a federal court case in which they were sued by the main "statin" prescription drug company.

Cholestatin lowers bad cholesterol by more than 30%--much better than the prescription drug AND has no side effects (unlike the prescription drug). If you are ready for a statin you owe it to yourself to try this first. It is most effective, of course (just like with the prescription drug) when combined with a low fat diet. Most of the research has been done with a 30% total fat diet and less than 10% saturated fat diet (NOT very low fat).

Walt
