...-Looking for some advice...Occasionally I feel some minor soreness around my knees. I went to a chiropractor awhile ago who took x-rays, didn't comment on them really--manipulated my leg and said everything was fine, maybe some slight chrondomalacia that was normal and wasn't anything to really worry about..Stairs don't hurt, so I assume it's nothing too bad...He hypothsized it was from doing squats which I doubt since I had barely done any at all and all had been very light...It seems that jumping rope, which I do on conrete, seems to aggrevate them the most...And I'll admit, I don't really have good shoes for it, so maybe I'm not receiving the proper support...Still, is this just normal soreness, or are my knees getting worse without me knowing??...Much thanks to any advice/enlightenment...

Hi, F.R.
Once chondromalacia begins it tends to be progressive UNLESS you are pretty proactive about reversing the condition. That means things like: 1. (for a year ir so) no weight bearing exercise at all-----under water exercises are not only not damaging but helpful. 2. Glucosamine, 750 milligrams twice a day and the essential fatty acids (homepage). 3. Consider MSM. 4. Eliminate any bracing with SR practiced appropriately.
You will notice your symptoms disappearing almost immediately BUT, you have to heal the problem completely to get out of the natural progression that is the hallmark of the condition before you can begin to delete treatment (about a year).
Let us know how you do. No more silly things like jumprope on concrete for you---even with great shoes.
Namaste`

I don't follow though...Assuming I had chrondomalacia, what good is elimenating all weight-bearing excercise going to really do? Wouldn't the problems just return once I returned to it a year later?....And more importantly, if one doesn't have chrondomalacia, what are the best means to PREVENT it?...thanks again...

Hi, F.R.
The body maintains itself UNTIL a certain threshold has been passed (disease already present) and THEN, it does it MUCH less effectively until the problem is completely healed (homeostasis is re-established at a different level).
Under water exercise keeps the supporting muscles strong while the surface of the bone heals.
