Call me a skeptic, but this whole concept of remote "healing" seems kinda flaky. Maybe it seems like a reach because I'm not very "spiritual." Perhaps someone here would be so kind as to explain in detail how they are able to "tune in." How do they know they've "connected" with you and not someone else, especially over long distances (they're in New Zealand and you're in the US, for example)?
Does anyone here have any experience with this? If so, which modality (Reiki, etc.)? Were you happy with the results? Specifically what did it do for you?
Thanks.

Renee-hum well let me quote my favorite book that i studied for 5 years-and now give classes in at our home; The Science of Mind by Earnest Holmes; A quote-
The possibility of spiritual mind healing, changing enviroment, controlling conditions ect, through the power of right thinking, rest entirely upon the theory that we are surrounded by a Universal Mind, which reacts to our thought and always according to Law [which law means mind in action -what you put your mind on manifest];
Sickenss in not a spiritual Reality; it is an expierence-an effect and not a cause. The body, devoid of mentality, could neither know nor expierence sensation-it is entirely an effect. The body of man is made from the same undifferentiated Spiritual Substance from which all Creation is formed.
Man need not consciously think negation in order to produce physical distrubance, but the physical correspondent is a locical outcome of what he thinks; Thus we see not only how important it is to entertain right thoughts, but also the necessity for having a constructive basis for our thinking;
Prayer sets the law of the spirit of life in motion for good. Pray is essential to the conscious well being of the soul. Faith in God is a spiritual quality of the Mind; I found this interesting- Its Action is Higher than that of the Intellect, because it is born of Inuition;
Renee, We send thoughts out all the time even when not conscious and it still has an effect on us and what we attract.Who and what we hang around us also can have an effect on us; I'm sure you have been around people and sensed the atmosphere of very heavy energy and very electric energy -it is thought produced; [ time and space is man made and not real-we are one and there is no space really between us]
I've worked in this field for a long time and i've seen some powerful results; Now the other kicker is that we also are influenced by what we eat, breath, drink ect. and if we were in tune we would eat not from our past patterns of addiction, but from an intuitive place; The other area is as we observe the race mind or animal mind [lower mind] coming in we do not make it our God- add it up and we have just owned it; Unwinding and clarity observation is sending out in our aura who we are which is like the 100th monkey story-do you know that?
Well we are travleing on the road tommrow to Texas in the afternoon, so i will be away from computer later tommrow for a few days; Love you all!

Hi Renee, I have been the recipient of distance Reiki healings via spiritual chat rooms and they were amazing, such a feeling of peace, joy and love comes over you. Sometimes the condition itself for which you request healing will be healed on the spot, sometimes it takes a longer time, and sometimes it just continues to be there. There are so many factors involved, clarity of intent of the healer and healee, the vibration of thoughts and beliefs, etc. I have also given healings to individuals I am chatting with over the computer succesfully but it is not something I have a lot of experience with yet.
You ask how do you "tune in" and how do you know you have connected with a particular person and not someone else. Well it's all about intent, and the intelligence of the universe takes care of the details. In my experience, as I said above, when I was the recipient I felt it beyond doubt that I was receiving this tremendous loving healing energy. When I gave a healing once to a friend who was feeling quite ill (flu symptoms, headache, body pain, fever) she became instantly well. I was as surprised as she was because it was my first try so ...Yes it's possible ...
Remote healing is not "flaky" when you take the time to study the principles of quantum reality, manifestation, spiritual principles, etc. Spiritual healing is energy vibration and since energy is limitless and connects everything and everyone then there is no need to have to be there in person, putting your hands on the body, to heal.
I really like what Terri-Lynn contributed.

since energy is limitless
At least the energy we all have studied in school decreases with distance and becomes negligle at long distances. That's why many people don't accept this phenomenon as real.

I agree with Terri-Lynn and KMD whole heartedly.
There are many quantum physics books on the market that do a good job of spelling out how distance healing and other forms of thought changing reality works. The Holographic Universe and The Field are two I can think of off the top of my head. Essentially they explain in detail that thought is a "living", "moving", "substance" that can effect energy on many levels.
I kind of use my own method that I worked out intuitively, that simply involves visualization, intent and the soul signature of the other person/people. (I never knew the term soul signature until recently, but if you think of a person, even if you don't know them, you might pick up on a unique feeling or sense of who they are - this is what I mean by soul signature. This ensures that you have the right person). During the visualization I will use appropriate colors or symbols (For ex the sun for warmth and healing, stream water to "wash" some energy away). For me it's important to first ask in one form or another if it's ok that I focus on this person, then I always make sure that I send energy that they can work with within themselves instead of specific thoughts or instructions like "heal so and so's arm". This way they can use the energy in a manner that is best for them instead of me dictating how they should use it.
The results have been magnificent. At first I was actually taking on some of the other person's symptoms, which is not ideal at all, and something you have to watch out for.
Recently my father had triple bypass surgery. I used color healing on him several times before and after, without telling him (but getting permission). The sessions were very vivid and powerful. He came out of the surgery practically running. The docs called his recovery amazing. But this wasn't just due to my color healings, it was also his own will and self healing, his physical health (great), others who were sending him energy via good thoughts etc. Some might say that this was coincidence, but I've had too many other similar experiences to think so. And I know and have read people that practice distance healing and even out of body healing that have much more experience than I. When I first started I was shocked at the results I was getting for being as untrained and unexperienced that I was (anybody can do it and get results).
Of course thought can also be used for "black magic" if you will, and everything between light and dark. So it's important that your intention is clear for exactly what you are trying to send to the other person/people. For this often mind training is required to develop focus of attention and unwavering thought.
Great topic. I look forward to hearing other's experiences.

Can you provide any examples of this mind training? Is it hypnotherapy?

I believe I posted the link to Drisana already. Drisana as well as all S.U.N. erergies are "intelligent." It knows where to go. Just in case
it doesn't you can make a symbolic (read "link target") so it knows exactly where to go.
The thing about distance healing is distance doesn't matter, partially because the method of energy transmission is not dependent travel through the
actual physical medium. It's high-vibration energy, travelling through spiritual space, and the other thing is that like telepathy what
is important as far as transmission is concerned is that the target has a matching energy signature. That is how the energy manages to arrive
"on target" at full strength. The problem in descibing this is using terms that everyone is familiar with, to decribe things that very few people
are familiar with.
Healing energy is NOT like electromagnetic energy even though it acts like it to some extent. It is the same energy that is transduced through
through the chakras to run your body. If you take Reiki or S.U.N. courses, your awareness of what the energy is, and how to direct it becomes
enahanced. You are quickened accordingly (given an "attunemant" which is a modification to your energetic bodies allow you to "run"
energies of certain types, or make modification to the energy profile of another person or yourself.
As you progress you no longer need symbols to direct energy. Intent, rather than visualization direct energy to the correct place, like telling a
dog to fetch a newspaper. The dog is intelligent enough to know what you intend for it to do. Same thing, except the energy is more intelligent.

Renee, Terri-Lynn's post is the same religion and concept that I was telling you about the other day. 'Religious Science' by Ernest Holmes practicing science of the mind.
She goes into much more detail, and it makes a lot more sense I'm sure.

Well, just simple meditation will help create better focus, but there are tons of mind training techniques varying from eastern style "fighting" techniques to zen to hypnosis. It's just a matter of finding one that the person resonates toward.

Hi, Renee.
There are plenty of research articles describing the validity of this concept. The only problem has been the difficulty humans have accepting radically different concepts of how the universe works.
Some great man gave us the following quote: "The universe is not only stranger than we think but stranger than we CAN think." In todays theoreticla physics and astronomy, this is being proven almost daily.
Even Shakespeare said it in his own way: "There are many more things in the world than are dreampt of in your philosophy." (Not an exact quote. Many of you have it exactly.)

I didn't believe it at ALL either, but then had a session and was sold.
However, a lot of nut's claim to be wellness professionals so to find the person who is valid is a little more challenging....
Even the nuts can research, use great terminology and sound like they know all that and a bag of chips....
I had a few nuts before the valid practioner(s)!

Black Magic-hum, well when one is in there I-Pesonality that is between there ears-ha- past info [listening to others information to much] -then one manifest more ego personality and it goes on and on- not knowing who we are is blackness and not being in the light;
I like the definition of Negetive thought is the Only Devil there is, hanging on to it-is the only way to discribe creating the devil; Making the un truth real not being aware of who we are and unifying with the power of the universe;
The I is locked into the blind leading the blind until we wake up and stop listening to what is not real and have care and concern for the wholeness of who we really are, [ it takes getting out of the I knows] and in so doing it benifits the whole; We are one and what happens to us effects the whole and we effect it in consciousness;
A lot of things were done in the name of God, when we never considered what was best for the whole [and that includes being whole in ourself also] and this put one in self centeredness calling it in the name of God!
Us, well we are seeing this, and going up stream to the real reality of life!

Terri-Lynn and Walt said it better than I could. I have used visualization to remotely heal friends and relatives, and laboratory studies have shown it to have measurable effects on living tissue. Read "You the Healer: The World-Famous Silva Method on How to Heal Yourself and Others," by Jose Silva and Robert B. Stone.

Hi KMD,
Well someone on this board a few years ago offered to do some long-distance Reiki for posters. She did a few posters, all of whom claimed to have great results. She "did" me at an appointed time. I felt nothing. Since I desperately needed help, I believed in it too. That experience really colored my opinion.

Hi Renee,
I have had a few healing sessions in which I felt nothing, and although it could be that the lady who sent healing to you simply did not connect with you, another possibility is that you did receive healing but did not experience it in the way you hoped or expected (sometimes the healing process is much more subtle and long term). But I can understand how you feel, since that was your first and only experience. I hope you will experience a "wow" healing one day.
Ideally when sending healing we should not be sending our own energy to the person, but simply using our intent and calling upon universal life force and allowing it to flow through you and to the recipient. If we are using our own energy to heal then we can drain our energy, pick up symptoms of the person and also the healing is likely to be very short term in its effect.

A year ago I underwent one session of Craniosacral Reiki.
I am a skeptic of great repute but having experimented with
Kirlian photography I was willing to test the notion of
energy medicine.
Within 24hours I was lying in the ER with what was later to
be "diagnosed" as unidentifiable chest pains. I will never
know what it was...as all my tests came back normal
Healing crisis....who knows....coincidence...well I have
only been in an ER once in my life so it would have to be
a pretty major coincidence.
I still have no idea what to make of it.....

Hi Thessa,
Please send me some of your healing thoughts. I had a 7 hour drive today from Fort Dodge, Iowa back to Chicago and, fool that I am, ate a cream-filled Krispy Kreme donut along the way. Many moons have passed since my body has experienced sugar and refined grains and whatever other evil ingredients that sadistic, harlot of a donut used to lure me into its creamy bosom. As I continued through Iowa on the Krispy Kreme high, I swear I saw nothing but cornfields for miles. For a moment, I thought I experienced a break in our reality, as space folded in on itself as if fields of corn overlapped like decks of green cards spread out over an infinite table. As I entered Illinois and came over a hill (yes, they do have a few hills in western Illinois), a group of men leveled an area with heavy equipment where some trees had gathered. Surely I was hallucinating. Why would anyone destroy the only trees at the border of a never-ending green carpet? I think they were gremlins or ogres from another dimension, gnawing like termites at the last remnants of hope for a civilization’s wholeness, and only seen under the influence of a cream-filled Krispy Kreme donut. Well, I guess that means flatlanders must see them all the time and accept their presence as men doing worthy chores – I don’t know – perhaps I only glimpsed an old tired dimension seen for too long by too many. I’m feeling a bit green around the gills and need a night of sound sleep, but alas, now I fear what dreams may come. Will there be trees and whole foods and a path you’ve marked by crumbs of sprouted grains, or will I be lost in a sea of gas stations, oozing Krispy Kreme cream from their hoses?

Ah....
I sent you the healing energy of my ripe, red, juicy breakfast cherries! What a perfect heart shaped cleanse for the krispy kreme occasion (funny, somehow after I first read your story, I thought you said 7 krispy kremes, not 7 hours :). The red, the fruit - a yummy purge that banishes the gunk, but not the savored memory, of the krispy kreme cream flooding your taste buds just 24 hours prior.
I've seen the same gremlins of which you speak - and they are us.
But luckily you can control your dreams!

uh huh! I think most folks fumble around with "black magic" without intention to harm and without knowledge of what they are doing... of course there are people who use it willfully, but for the most part it simply presents with "harmful" thoughts or actions expressed as a result of ignorance of who we really are and how we all relate. Of course that's the big deal about being here, finding out all that jazz... so of course it takes "time", mistakes, revelations and all the other fun involved to come to realize who we are ... I know I'm having fun! (Even when I have to remind myself :)

Ahh, much better today, thanks.
I think seven donuts would have done me in; either that or I would have required overtime of your healing thoughts. One was enough to alter my perception, and thus see my reflection and my inner evil self (if I understand you correctly). Gasp! Luckily I can dream of popping red cherries and a donut-free world.
I love your cherries, baby...especially for breakfast!
