I've increased fiber intake to 2 scoops of Citrucel per day. I am taking 4 tablespoons of MO at night before bed. Still only having one BM in the morning. I never feel as if my bowels are completely evacuated. Also, for some reason, I never go during the day or night. Only first thing in the A.M. I wonder if this has something to do with bracing...that I brace a lot more during the day?
Should I continue to increase fiber and MO? I feel very bloated already from the Citrucel. Any help would be appreciated...

First of all, are you drinkig enough water? Fiber increases water requirements. Second, try eating several good size cups of yogurt a day. Fresh, plain yogurt. It's made a big difference for me. I used to be unable to tolerate carbs. Even one fruit or a peice of bread would cause constipation. Eating large amounts of yogurt changed that.

I actually make my own kefir (similar to yogurt) and drink at least two cups/day of that. It has helped reduce gas and bloating but doesn't seem to affect constipation. I am drinking MASSIVE amounts of water to no avail. Frustrating.

Is one bowel movement a day really not enough? Are bowels required to be totally evacuated with each movement? Maybe you are normal and just don't know it? Just a thought. Good luck.

No, one movement a day IS enough! Please don't kill yourself trying to have more than that; it's not necessary.

It's not really a question of frequency. Once a day would be fine with me if I felt that it was a healthy, complete evacuation. What's troubling is that the movements are often scanty and difficult to pass, and sometimes irregular (I'll miss a day here and there). I can tell that I'm "backed up" because my abdomen is visibly distended, my appetite decreases, I get a thick white coat on my tongue, and I feel fatigued and foggy-headed.

Sounds like candida

I've also found Mg citrate helpful. I used to take about 1/2 tsp dissolved in a hot water. Drank 1 to 3 times a day. Find your own dose. I bought it in a powdered form in a health food store. If not available locally, you can buy it from http://www.frontiercoop.com/. It's relatively cheap -- about $18 for a pound.

I agree. It definitely sounds like candida and LGS. You need to be treating these. I know cause I've been there with the exact same symptoms you are describing. Read up on these in the glossary, articles and archives.

Thanks, Stuck.
Mainly listen to R & Naya.
This does sounc like LGS & C-RS. Your reaction to this combination is colonic hypotonia.
I agree that one movement a day is just fine--no matter how you feel at this point. If your movement is soft and easy to move, don't change anything OTHER than stop obcessing about it and waiting until you can hardly hold it to go to the toilet. Then only evacuate what comes easily and stop when it is no longer automatic.
At this stage it is partly a matter of retraining the colonic musculature. The mag citrate suggestion is a laxative and, in MY opinion, that would give you results but is the very last thing you need right now.
In the long run, serious wellness will allow your colonic musculature to regain it's genetic potential. So long as you deal with the LGS and the C-RS in the meantime, your colon should last you a long time.
Let us know how you do.
