Dear Sir,
In march this year I found your site. Our youngest daughter of 3,5 years old had BM after 11 days since when she was 2,5 years old! This was the occassion (bloody) when we decided to go to the docter. He gave us lactulose, but we had to increase the amount monthly. She drunk a litre in a month, and ofcourse she was withholding. Anal leakage and stil not going to the toilet but 'doing' it in a diper sitting on the floor and her legs folded. Then a read your site. To be short: she went very proud on het potty after to days and dared to push a little! After a month she went to the toilet herself. We began with 2 tablespoons and we have been reducing it to 1/2 a tablespoon. SHE REALY LOVES TO GO TO THE TOILET NOW! In Holland we also are sent to several docters, but they want to do and give her things which we think are not the cause or/and the solution. She really had a social problem, swimming with the kids was very stessfull, kindergarten not possible. The whole family was fixated on het BM,s. She began withholding when she was given solids, she was fully breastfed upto one year to avoid allergy, like we did with the other to. We have pictures of Myrthe sitting in het withholding position when she was 13 month...
We want to thank you for your ideas and support of the archives,
goodbye from Holland

Thanks, Jacqueline.
Now, I wonder why this is not standard treatment for this vexing condition???

I can't believe when I read this article it described my 31/2 yr old boy to a "T"! I want to start this procedure tomorrow but I'm not sure where to get the mineral oil and in what form - liquid?
He has taken stool softeners (colace) but has ceased to work well enough.
I could not be happier for Jacqueline, I know what a painful and emotional experience this can be.
Wish me (and my little boy) luck!
