Have seen a few posts on this subject and have a question
or two. If trying to add 4 tesp a day, do you do this
all at once or break it up into a couple times a day?
How much water do you mix with it? Do you count this
as part of your daily water intake? Powder or husks?
Anything to add to it at the same time for "better"
results? I realize this all sounds elementry, but have
tried this without much positive results.
Thanks for your help!

O.K. I will start with this one but I think that there will be several other valid suggestions. It has been my experience that it is vital to use fiber to help heal crs and aid in your bodies recovery of lgs. I use konsyl brand syllium sugar free additive free. I add a ground flax seeds and every morning I crush a small clove of purple garlic in the mix. It has helped a lot but took some time to get used to. I mix a teaspoon in about 14-16 oz of water. I follow drinking this down with another 18oz of water. I wait about 20 mins and then drink another 18 oz of h20 and start the rest of my whole foods diet and supplements. There are a bunch of great posts by shape down the page here and search the archives and there will be even more. The main thing is to do it. I personally don't include it as part of my daily h2o intake but I may be wrong.I feel that you can't take in too much water. Good luck. Pete z

Hi, Joe.
Listen to Pete (Thanks, Pete!).
Remember that there are many kinds of fiber and each kind does a different thing. For your purposes, think soluble and insoluble.
Personally, I take at least 1/2 cup of psyllium (insoluble)in the form of Equate, no sugar, fiber (Walmart) twice a day. I put it in a pint jar with a lid and add water to fill. It is then immediately shaken vigorously and chugged. My diabetes is finally paralysing the smooth muscle of my colon which is why I need so much.
For ANYONE, the correct dose is whatever produces the size and consistancy of stool desired. More is being learned every week aobut the benefits of the different kinds of fiber. Most printed material has to be out of date as soon as it is printed.
Hope this helps.
Walt
