Costchondritis

Posted by lorraine [1751.10] on February 27, 2004 at 11:36:47:

I have had costochondritis for 2 1/2 years now it started right after I had my baby and I have taught myself how to control the pain by using relaxation tapes etc. My problem is that I use to be a very active person, I would run 5 miles a day . I have not been able to get myself back into exercising because everytime I attempt to do any type of cardiovascular activity it flares back up. Is there any cardiovascular exercise you can recommend that will not cause the costo to flare up?

Lorraine,

Your mistake is in only using your SR skill when you have symptoms. The idea is to use it at least twice a day, for 20 minutes, for a year or so till it is gone for 6 months. Done as needed, you will still have it when you are 80. Study the archives till you fully understand what it is.

Let us know what you learn and how you do.

Walt

I actually listen to these 40 min relaxation and affirmations tapes on the train 5 days a week going into to work and again on my way home from work and I have to say they have helped me so much but it has never completely gone away. I just started reading the Costo archives and saw that you recommend a SR workbook which I just purchased so I am hoping that will help me even more as well as the archives as you recommended. Thank you for your advice. I will let you know how it goes.
Thanks
