A Testimonial (well, sort of)

Posted by KMD on July 24, 2000 at 12:49:03:

Hello, whoever is interested,

I thought I would post a quick summary of the health changes I have experienced so far since discovering this BB. It has been about 10 months I believe since I first came here. Like anyone who has never been exposed to anything other than conventional med and the prescription pad, the paradigm shift has been a slow process of discovery and pondering.

Here's what I have done so far:
1) I have educated myself thoroughly according to Walt's teachings here on the BB.
2) I have purchased Walt's book, the Relaxation Workbook, and the Healing Power of Whole Foods and spent much time reading and reviewing them.
3) I have tried and failed the Perfect Whole Foods Diet several times, BUT have in the process improved my eating habits overall by AT LEAST 50%.
4) I have experimented with different forms of SR, trying to get my frequency to a consistent 2 times per day, and still trying to find the "method" that is best for me. Being as how I was TOTALLY lost at first, I think I have come a long way since then. I am not ready for biofeedback to test if I am in the range, because I want to feel quite confident I am reaching it before I go spend the $$ and possibly find out I am not.
5) I have been going to a chiropractor
6) I have been experimenting with supplements.

Sometimes I look at myself and feel like I'm not making much progress. BUT, when I look back over the last 6 months, I realize just how far I really have come. The changes are gradual, but they are real.

MY HEALTH IMPROVEMENTS SO FAR:

1) One thing that seems to have completely resolved is my costochondritis which was getting very severe (several painful attacks per day).
2) My acne is not great but I have to admit it is better than it was and I believe it will continue to improve.
3) My tastes are changing slowly toward a real preference for the whole foods I have learned to prepare but do not yet eat exclusively. The last time we ordered McDonald's I found it to be rather disgusting.
4) I have made very slow gains in my SR, but I do have the massage series lined up for myslef in August.
5) I exercise more, and have had a slow weight loss over the last 2 months of 5 pounds which makes me feel great.
6) My "migraines" (which probably are not true migraines I have learned, although just as painful), are less frequent.
7) My PMS symptoms are of shorter duration, instead of lasting a full 2 weeks, now they last about 5-6 days. This includes breast pain and wide mood swings, irritability.
8) I seem to be requiring less allergy medication. Sometimes I can get away with skipping 2 days in a row before I have an allergy attack. Before, I had to take my pill every day, and sometimes another type at night.

I am on the brink of doing something drastic now, but will not report it here unless I succeed!

Thanks, KMD.

A real testimonial has warts just as yours has. Congratulations!

Walt
