I have just been diagnosed with hyperostosis of the right sided sterno-costo-clavicular joint and according to my specialist it is a very rare bone disease. I have been having pain in that area as well as my neck, shoulder, back and especially my ribs. Is there anything that can be done to help with the pain. I am taking Aleve and it just seems to take the edge off. My anxiety levels are very high and can make the pain even worse. Do you know much about this disease and its outcome? I have tried exercising and stretching but moving that joint just increases the pain.
Many thanks.

Hi, Annette.
This condition is one of the possible (rare) complications of untreated and undiagnosed costochondritis. Read the archives about this condition and let us know what you learn.
