Hello, I have Costochondritis and i know about it and about the treatment however something happend yesterday which i did not expect and i keep think maybe i need some sort of other medication as well as medication for inflamation of the ribs. I could go to my doc but there are many other people i feel would benefit more by the time i would spend with my doctors.
At night i sleep on my back but last night i slept on my chest or front withought realising, when i woke up i couldent move anything but my head. My ribs, back and especially my arms were extremlley painful. When i think about it and tell you i had to bounce over onto my back i haft to grin because others would say 'you can move! in disbelief' but i was paralysed regarding movement but not pain wise around my spine and top part of my body - it was so strange i had to wait 30 mins before getting feeling in my legs and bieng able to move. Its like the costochondritis sent the 'whole body' into complete 'spasm' mode.
I still have the pain but i can move now.
cant think what could have happend? but i wont ever lie like that again.....

Please ignore my message above, i decided to contact my doc and im feeling better. Ive taken 3000mg of paracetamol and 180mg of Codomol - still need a further 60mg of codomol and 1000 mg of Paracetamol today however its working. I still feel a bit of pain in my arms and especially my tummy muscles have gone to pot but with the 240mg of Codomol a day as well as the 4000mg paracetamol all the pain should ease a little each day and i should regain controle of these muscles.

Georgina.
Listen to labrat. NO ONE thinks that costochondritis is a deficiency of ANY of the drugs you are taking.
That means that the condition will continue to get worse until the drugs no longer work. How long do you think it will be before you cannot lay any way without this happening again?
I see nothing wrong with taking symptom repressing drugs so long as you keep learning about the causes and doing something about them!
