Cranial Disfunction

Years ago I sustained head trauma. The head/brain have healed but my upper jaw/pallette area don't feel normal. They feel jammed. It feels like my upper teeth are in the wrong place. There is nothing that is obvious from visual inspection. Incidentally, the head trauma was not due to an accident but due to extreme stress where I clenched my jaw/head very hard. I know it sounds weird but that is what happened. Internal injuries were healed by acupuncture.

Can diagnosis be done on this problem ?

Is this a form of plagiocephaly

As a first option, do you know of anyone in the Orlando, FL area or Florida that could help me ?

Thanks.

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

To answer your questions in order: yes, yes, and yes. Check out the attached link on craniosacral therapy at the Upledger Institute in Florida.

Hi, Thomas.

This is, perhaps, THE most common cause of plagiocephaly!

Call The Cranial Academy at (317) 594-0411 for the names of certified cranial osteopaths in your area.

Let us know how you do.

Walt,

I would like to know more about plagiocephaly. As I told you, there were internal head injuries. I felt weird sensations in my head like voids, ridges, and jagged edges. Is that common with this disorder ? Also, my head felt very short and narrow.

I really want to nail down a diagnosis here that this is plagiocephaly. This happened in 1991 but I have never had a proper diagnosis.

Like I said, acupuncture removed the internal sensations. I am currently using bio-cranial therapy on it and have had some positive results but I am always looking for the next option. This has been going on for 9 years.

Thanks for the quick response.

Thomas

Thomas,

By far your best bet to substantiate the diagnosis is to contact the institute and get as much information from them as you can and read the references they can provide. THEN find a competent practitioner (which they can also provide) and see her in consultation.

Let us know what happens.

Walt
