My wife has recently been diagnosed with an autonomic nervous system disorder by 2 reputable Osteopaths. She has been receiving treatment for a year with only mild relief from her symptoms which include head and face pain which bring on crying and loss of mobility. This all started 3 years ago after an overtightening of braces by an ortodondist. Her Osteopath has determined that her mechanics
are off center, often resulting in one shoulder being obviously lower than the other. Treatment straightens her out temporarily. She has been through all the normal testing
for TMJ, had spinal taps, MRI's, X-rays and the like, with no results of any obvious, easy to discover problems. Prior to the injury she was a very energetic 38 year old with a full professional and family life. For the past 3 years she has barely had a life with the exception of Doctor visits.

Hi David,
Are the osteopaths doing crainial manipulation on your wife?
It would seem to me that she would need this type of work done.

Hi, David.
Listen to Doc Kim (Thanks, Doc Kim!)
It seems pretty obvious, doesn't it?
Unfortunately, the AMA has been do persistant in their efforts to destroy Osteopathy as a competing discipline, that in the 1950s they essentially got the Osteopathic Medical schools converted to medical schools. Fortunately this trend is now reversing. SO, most Osteopaths are presently just medical school graduates without an appreciation of structure (which is the major difference in the philosophies).
You will have to seek out a certified cranial osteopath. See the glossary and archives about how to do that.
Let us know how she does.
