To those that had your amalgams removed

Posted by Juli [7638.4138] on July 26, 2007 at 08:31:34:

I would love to do a survey on all the people that have had their silver dental fillings removed to see if it really helped any symptoms. I have yet to get enough information on whether to remove my amalgams.

Can those of you that had your amalgams removed please let me know if you have had SIGNIFICANT improvement in health? And thank you, Nutmeg, as you gave me your answers. Juli

I had my amalgams removed about a year ago. I just started doing heavy metal detox a couple of months ago after testing high on a hair analysis, and so far have only been doing massage and sauna. Next week I start DMSA treatment. I did not notice any improvement after removal, until I started doing detox. Even the mild detoxing I am doing has brought some improvement. I will see if I get SIGNIFICANT improvement with the DMSA.

but I'm sure it was a good idea. I don't believe mercury belongs in anyone's mouth.

Yeah, Lurch.

I had all of mine removed 15 - 20 years ago. I did not notice any change. However, I did see some dramatic benefits in some of my patients who got theirs out. So far, the only way I know that anyone can figure out what "camp" they are in is to get them out and see. I am very sure that they are not doing ANYONE any good in their mouth.

Thanks Walt. There are conflicting reports about whether it is in the best interest of the person to get them out, because when they are drilled out, no matter the safe protocol, there is going to be some significant amount of mercury vapor, and also, there is the possibility of weakening the molars and cracking them and then having to get crowns, etc., also I have heard the bite changes and the teeth become weaker. So, there are some drawbacks. If I knew that 100% there would be no mercury vapor and no teeth that are weakened, of course I would have them out, no question, but there is a chance things could get worse!!! I have also heard of people getting very sick after having them out, this is why I debate!!! Thanks for your input! Juli

I have a crazy theory that the two times you are most likely to get silver (metal) poisoning is the day they put your fillings in and the day the drill them out. I think the amount of metal disolving on a on-going basis has to be minscule. I will just leave mine in.

Hey Steve,

I am reaching that conclusion also, and I just read that there is a high chance that by the time your amalgams are 25-30 years old, most of the mercury has already leached. so why the heck fix it if it is not broke?

Mine are all 25-30 yrs. old, so the damage has already been done, in my opinion, and it may be too traumatic to my body to have all 8 out now anyways. If there was more evidence of people getting well of their symptoms when the amalgams come out, maybe I would consider, but have yet to find anyone that really healed as a result of them out. Juli

Thanks, Steve.

Personal, informed choice! It will probably be another 100 years until the scientific community will be able to look back and see how risky, or not risky, leaving them in is. Again, once again, the one thing I am sure of is that they do no one any good.

Hi Walt,

I agree about the time it might take to get the truth about amalgams..
The problem is with the way we are losing technology
training in schools...
When the last crop of scientists who were trained in the sixties and seventies by WW2 geniuses finally retire,
the brain-drain is going to become very evident..
Relying on a knowledge-base that is stored on a computer will be our downfall when the technology
fails or becomes available only to the rich.
Don't throw out your science and math BOOKS.

One day, we will have to consult with experts in Asia or India to find out what elements and compounds are injurious..

When I was 12 I developed an allergy to fish that lasted 20 years. When I had a few amalgams removed I was no longer allergic to seafood. i guess the allergy taking hold at 12 years of age was around the time that my dentist had started filling me with mercury.
