There is an internet only product called "Oramd" that is made of essential oils of Peppermint, Spearmint and Almond that makes claims of reversing gum disease. Since gum disease is caused by bacteria and all three oils are anti bacterial it seems logical that it could be of benefit. I was wondering if anyone here has ever tried it. My wife went to a female periodontist, on my dental plan, and she is going to seek a second opinion but the first one said she could not save any of her upper teeth. Less than three years ago my wife had multiple crowns done and everything was in top order. She has been under tremendous stress since then but flossed after ever meal, something I have never trained myself to do. Her parents both had dentures by the age she is now, so our regular dentist blames genetics. I don't know what to think. She knew her front teeth were doomed because they have been capped since she was a teen and they have been shifting around for a couple of years, but she is devistated witht he thought of a full set of upper dentures. I told her I would not let anyone extract teeth that are not rotten or falling out on their own and I believe the periodontist is more concerned with the money than she is with saving my wife's teeth. I am not aware of my wife having halitosis, I've never noticed anyway, but we have not been intimate in several years so maybe I missed it, but I don't see how. I had a co- worker with gigivitis once and the odor when he talked would make my eyes water from ten feet away. Anyway, what do you think about the anti bacterial oils? Does it seem feasible that they could actually help? Or does it sound like snake oil to y'all?

Does your wife use a Sonicare toothbrush along with her flossing? If not run, don't walk to the store and get her one and make sure she uses it.
The toothpaste sounds fine, but I wouldn't count on it being a magic pill. Get her to start dosing with CoQ10 also.
Also, how about she gets a second opinion?
I hope this helps.

A friend asked that I post this for him:
I've read VERY positive reports from people who've used Dr. Christopher's tooth powder. I believe its main ingredient is white oak bark. He can search the web for info on it.
(I searched and the link is below)
