anxiety

Posted by bridget on September 30, 2002 at 18:54:19:

Dr. Stoll I suffer with severe anxiety. The slightest thing or situation can set it off. Like today, I awoke a little nervous (I also suffer with agoraphobia) then I felt better and went grocery shopping, came home and started to feel anxious to the point where I feel just a little nauseaus, at least thats what I think it is, the way I can explain it is its a weird feeling an inch or 2 below my breastbone. Not pain or sick feeling, just a heavyness. Like theres a big lump there. After awhile,, well several hours, I calm down, eat, and I'm fine. Does this sound like its all anxiety-related? This happens a few times a month. I think Im a hypochondriac too because when this 'feeling' comes over me, I feel like I might be coming down with something, and 99 3/4% of the time it seems to all be in my head. Can you shed a little light on this please? I'd like to hear your opinion. Thank you

Practicing skilled relaxation, SR, on a regular basis is bound to help you. See glossary for more details.

Have you thought about hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar)? The fact that eating improves it might be a clue, and that you wake anxious when your blood sugar is lowest. Just a thought.

Hi, Naya.

You will be the first person in 25 years that did SR as directed who did not have some tangible effect (in MY experience).

EXACTLY how have you been doing it and what were your biofeedback readings? Of course SR is not the answer to everything! What IS? However, it does help everything else work better.

I didn't post that second post. SR has helped me immensely! The original poster must have used my name by mistake. I recommend SR to everyone!!!

Too bad, Bridgett.

I guess you are doomed until you have suffered more.

Let us know when you are ready.
