1) Determine if you are, in fact, depressed. many individuals who assume they have depression are not necessarily so. It is well known that individuals when told by a clinician that they are depressed become more depressed. Not much different that your blood pressure going up when you are having it taken.
2) Try to get an understanding of what is/are the driving factor/s behind the depression. If at all possible deal with these on a slow and steady pace.
3) Avoid the pharma route if at all possible. While the anti-depressives are a god send for certain cases, they can do more harm than good for many. Just because they are prescribed does not mean that it is the only way out.
4) Abstain from alcohol.
5) Eat fresh fruit and vegetables 3 times a day
6) Use melatonin to sleep at night and put in up to 9 hours if possible
7) Find an exercise program that you enjoy and can stay with
My email is above if you wish to know any further information.
Be Well,
Jon

That was a hypothesis I made, considering the fact that (now) most of the explicit knowledge is available to almost anybody who looks for it, and yet only a handful are able to use that to innovate or make quantum jumps...what is that due to? My guess is frames of references, the lens we use to evaluate data and information...I choose to call these as tacit knowledge..

Do you know WHY you are depressed? Are you looking at counseling as an option? Don't limit your approach to something you can take, consider what you can do proactively. Read the archives on depression. If stress is your angle, consider the herb Rhodiola Rosea, it's helping me a great deal. Hope this helps.

Hi, Meeko.
If you have your diagnosis correct, the further you slide the less options you will have and the less energy you will have to do those options. Start serious wellness at once and let us know how you are doing in a month or so. If you have already slipped too far to do that, consider a conventional antidepressnt for a couple of months to give you enough energy to actually pull yourself up with your bootstraps.
Let us know how you do.
