I started a liver cleanse on Saturday (5 days ago) and I notice that I am extremely tired this week. Is this normal? I'm assuming this is because the toxins are moving out of my liver.
Thanks.

You could be low in minerals...sometimes when you do cleanse you loose a lot of minerals.

Fatigue is a very normal symptom. Be sure to take an extra dose of vitamin and minerals for the next 3 days! You will more than likely experience some emotional changes as well.

I experienced exactly the same thing, a few days after the liver cleanse. I have never experienced such extreme fatigue as that. I also connected it to the liver cleanse but wasnt sure why I would get such a reaction, several days later.
SHAPe, besides water, what else can be done to move the toxins out of the body quicker, rather than them circulating in the bloodstream and causing such extreme fatigue?

So when does this let up? Should I be better by next week?
Well, at least I know it's working!

Shape I would also like to do the liver cleanse. Here’s the thing:
I'm a females & I have been drinking on average 3 beers a day for the past 4 years.
I'm 27 years old & plan stop drinking so that i can get healthy to get pregnant next year. Should I stop drinking for a few weeks & than do the liver cleanse? Or should I do the cleanse the same week I stop drinking.
What else would you recommend to help me get ready? Is there anything I should do or not do during my pregnancy that is different from what doctors advice?
Thanks for your help.

Hi Janedoe,
There is a 3-legged stool for wellness that you can find out about in the glossary. It covers all the areas of your being. I think your diet is the most important part if your considering pregnancy.

Why would a liver cleanse cause toxins to circulate in the bloodstream? I thought the idea was to expell them.

If you think of the liver as a filter/storage area, then when you clean it "backwash" it, all the stored toxins are "unstored" and once again are circulating through the boodstream. The idea is rather than having the liver store the toxins, GET RID of the toxins altogether. That way the the liver is clean and the stored toxins are passed out of the body completely.

Yes, rather than the toxins being excreted so quickly into the blood stream and causing fatigue. There has to be a way to bypass that, because that feeling of fatigue was quite overwhelming.

it's a CHEMICAL filter, not a physical one...I just don't get this.
The liver works in one direction - it can't "backwash". It might STOP working, thereby causing a backup of toxins, but it doesn't dump them back in to your system...
maybe Doc Stoll can explain it better to me...?

Thanks, Woman.
There are 2 basic ways the liver processes toxins: one is by metabolizing then into less toxic molecules and the other is by excreting them via the gallbladder. As I understand the liver flush process it mainly increases the latter. During that process there is a time when more stuff is circulating in the systemic blood stream.
The former detox process is helped by things like the castor oil packs, antioxidents snd herbs that improve liver function.
Hope this helps.
