I remember 8 yrs ago, I had a "pimple" in the groin area, on my upper-inner thigh. I busted it and immediately, A LOT of blood shot out! I found it odd. After that, I occasionally got them, about 1/month. They were all similar, when busted, a lot of blood came out. Now, I have about 4 all the time, and the same thing, when busted, sometimes puss comes out, but it's mainly A LOT of blood. My dr. said it's subaceous cysts. I try warm compresses but that doesn't help. I am quite overweight, and I thought that was why. Any advice? My dr. doesn't seem too worried, but when I bust them, blood literally shoots out,and it kind of worries me.

Hi, Amy.
What have you learned from the sebaceous cysts archives about how to prevent them?

Dr. Stoll,
I feel it's not a subaceous cyst, that's why I posted this. I felt it's something different as mostly when cysts are mentioned, they are accompanied by puss or white fluid. Mine never really have that, and that's the reason I posted.
I've heard of small blood tumors and didn't know if that's what it was.

Hi, Lady.
Prevent the next one!
See the archives about antiperspirants and let us know what you learned.
In the meantime learn how to use the hot compresses (archives again) for any that come--as soon as they start.
If this becomes recurrent, see the archives about preventing recurrent sebaceous cysts.

Hi, Amy.
Sebaceous cysts are pretty easy to diagnose. However, the only way to be SURE is to have one removed and sent to the lab for a pathological examination.
Let us know what you learn.

Archieve info was great.
Now I have another question?
I have an eight yr old and a 6 yr. old. I told the nurse that my 6yr. old had underarm odor since age three and I was told it was okay to use deoderant on her. If I did not she would smell like a basketball player. Why is that? My other daughter has no order.

WOW, Lady!
If you knew how rare that was.....
Either she has a REAL problem with excreting toxins from anywhere except her skin OR she has a rare condition of apocrine glands before puberty.
I would be really interested to know which and her health may be affected without your knowing which is true.
Most deodorants (except antiperspirants) are pretty safe.
I once posted the explanation for (adult) bad body odor and the resolution for same on this BB. I do not know where I might have archived it. There ARE magicians on this BB who know how to find most subjects like this that I have lost. You might post a note asking for help finding it.
In the meantime, this is not nearly as important as finding out why this is. Do not let the doc slough you off just because he doesn't know the answer. Get a referral.

Cause of B.O. in 3yr. old
What is BB?

I know what BB is.
The 3yr. old is 6 now and she occasionally has isolated skin out breaks on her legs, arms, stomach, back and scalp. They swell like chicken pox and burst leaving a dark spot. The doctor said it was baby acne , then he said was it was an insect bite because at the time it was only on her legs and arms. He thought it was from th outside in. I believe its from the inside out. She did get the chicken pox vaciene when she was four. Washing the hair more often illiminated the bumps in her scalp. What could it be?
I thought it was related to caffiene. We rarely allow her to have caffiene and it seems to help.

Thanks, Lady.
I agree with you that this is from the inside out. Conventional physicians are not taught to think like this.
What did you learn from the BB and archives?

I learned that with consistant cleanliness inside and out deordorant is not needed. You can use fragrances, such as fragranted talc powder if you want a clean or pleasant scent.
Yesterday, I began to sweat after taking a long walk in the heat of the sun and there was no odor.
I thank God for giving you the wisdom that you share with others. Keep up the good work. Know that it has not fallen on death ears.
