I saw this product advertised on tv ....
http://www.physicianschoice.net/p_detox.html

the underlying theory seems correct, however; i'm very skeptical of tv infomercials... is there any similar product to this available from a REPUTABLE source that anyone has persoanl experience with? Thanks so much, and please feel free to email me personally regarding this matter.
regards, ray.

I think this is absolute rubbish. All you need is a reasonable diet!

Hi Ray,

I have heard this program mentioned on the radio. The CONCEPT behind the detox is sound but it is incomplete. Any claims made that one can detox without changing anything in the diet is hogwash. The products themselves are, EH! They contain some useful ingredients but they don't seem at large enough potency to actually do anthing. 395mg divided between 15 or 16 ingredients doesn't give a potency to the product that would be worth your time. There are many ways to detox and it doesn't have to be very expensive either. There are only a small handful of supplements that you may need to help faciliate the removal of toxins from your body. Here's a small list:

1. Vitamin C
2. Charcoal = binds to toxins in GI tract
3. N-Acetyl-Cysteine = detoxes toxins, increases glutathione
4. Milk Thistle = protects the liver
5. Lecithin = eases the gallbladder
6. Berberine = broad spectrum anti-microbial (optional)
7. Flora Source = To start using once the detox is complete

That's about it. No need to take multi products with tons of ingredients. Also, thre are 2 BASIC ways to detox. One is to fast on water or juice. The other is to do a "metabolic cleansing" which consists of vegetables, few fruits, olive oil, and brown rice (if tolerated),and possibly a protein supplement if needed. This type of regimen is also known as "The Ecotox Program" and is available at Barnesnoble.com. I prefer the metabolic cleansing because it is more gentle on the body, and provides much needed fiber to remove debri from the intestinal tract. The Ecotox consists of 2 days on water, and then 5 days on the restricted diet. The supplements are taken between meals.

I may have given you more info than you needed but there it is. I hope it helps your understanding of the process

I actually have a VERY reasonable diet, but i'm also not VERY healthy ... the two things are not always mutually inclusive ... you do know what they say about assumptions? Besides, if you REALLY beleive that statementthat you made, then your wasting your and our valuable time here on this BB. Thanks and have a GREAT day!

Hi HY,
So if your going to detox should you stop taking flora source while detoxing? What about permavite?

Not necessarily. If you feel that you are not in a state of dysbiosis, you can stay on flora during detox. In fact, they help. However, if you have dysbiosis, going off the flora and using an anti-microbial would benefit.

Permavite would be ok as long as you are eating during the detox. It is not wise to take fiber supplements on a juice or water fast as there is nothing to move the fiber through. That's a good way to get an impaction.

Detoxification, although a normal bodily function (taking place every minute of every day), can get backed up because we live in a world where we take in more toxins than we can excrete. Detoxifying involves modifying the diet or fasting, improving our environment, and even detoxifying our emotions as toxic thoughts also leave PHYSICAL traces in the body. This allows the body to rest the digestive system, and focus on elimination. Some people choose to do it in order to improve a condition, others do it simply to stay healthy.

I would like to detoxify my body by fasting or modifying my
diet and I would welcome your suggestions for a beginner.
However, it can not be easy to detoxify emotions and they
leave serious physical marks on the body and the spirit of
well-being of a person. Please guide me in detoxification
of emotions.

Your best bet is to read the book, "The Ecotox Diet" which is available at any bookstore or online.

One of the best methods for detoxifying the emotions is with a therapy called EFT. Go to www.mercola.com and type EFT into the search engine there. This should give you PLENTY to work with. You might also read the nutrition information on the website

You might want to try this site. It tells you all about detoxing without pushing one particular plan or program. They do however review various plans and books. The purpose of the site is to provide information for detoxing. I found it quite helpful and they also have it broken down into gentle, moderate and assertive. Good luck!

Hi
Have you participated in this EFT? What are the benefits?
Did it help you detox your emotions? There are some needs
and emotions that are innate to a human being, do we detox
those emotions? Did you?

Yes. I have used EFT which is why I recommended it to you. Go to this site and learn more about it.

http://www.emofree.com/

The type of problems I am talking about are negative and traumatic emotions caused by past experiences. The website explains it better. If you can't get the info you are looking for at www.mercola.com, go to the site I listed above. Another therapy for emotional detox would be Thought-Field Therapy. It is very similar to EFT except it's difficult to do it by yourself. you need a therapist. With EFT, you can learn it yourself. Overall, TFT might be a bit better, but EFT is very powerful itself.
