MRSA

Posted by Penny [229.4562] on April 20, 2008 at 02:09:00:

My son has been fighting recurrant MRSA, under his arms and the soft fatty tissues, of his belly fat, he is 15, and has taken all the antibiotics that continued to be perscribed for him , doing the multiple showers daily, scrubbing with the recommended antibacterial soap, keeping any weeping leisions covered and generally just keeping himself fully clothed at all times, not sitting anywear shirtless or sweaty.
I have been very careful in handeling his laundry, sanitizing every load, blankets etc.
The problems is not just with his recurring eruptions, it is not with ME
I have developed a leision on the upper part of my belly in the fatty tissue just below(but not in the crease) my breast, it looks like a spider bite red ring weeping center that is increasing, no matter how I treat it, I am using the antibiotic ointment, the same washing proceedures and keeping it covered etc.. I do not have a doctor and do not have access to reasonable fee medical care, my sons doctor(under ex hubbies insurance) will not even LOOK at it or discuss treating me, he is not accepting new patients and also does not accept self pay clients.

and yes charles, I even packed it with tobacco twice yesterday for about 45 minutes each time and only succeeded in making it swell even more, but I gave it an honest try,

I need words of wisdom or suggestion on self treating this... I have considered using compound w to kill all the adjacent skin with the hope of stopping the infection(this actually did work for me on a brown recluse bit, but as there was just venemon involved and NOT bacteria I am worried that I will just be making a bad situation worse, by necrotizing the skin with the compound w, SO any help appreciated,,

Thanks
Penny

you tried tobacco, did you try cayenne pepper in salt water? I would keep it in place for at least 20min, soaked in gauze, cloth, or a paper towel.

I think 45 minutes is too long, I only used it for 15-20 minutes on my son. If you use it too long, it causes the immune system to not react to it.

I don't ever recommend anyone use it over 10-15 minutes the first time.

Are you telling me you took the tobacco off, added water, reheated it and put it back on 22 times?

Penny,
I'm so sorry to hear this problem.
I've read that garlic may kill this bacteria, you could do a search for more information.

Best,
Carol B.

Penny,

Is your son grossly overweight? Has he had a correctly done diabetic screening test (2hr PP)? See the diabetes archives.

Keeping tobacco on her for 45 minutes is going to make it red.

I put tobacco on one of my brothers for a fungus, it got to where it was red and weeping, he said what are we going to do now, I said, it beats the hell out of me, we stopped. His fungus is much much better now. I told him it said on the internet that some people would never get rid of a fungus, it would be with them until they died.

Walt, did you see "60 Minutes" Sunday night? The bypass surgery for obesity is curing diabetes in a week and not because of weightloss. It's something about the stomach contents not going through the duodenum. Of course the AMA doesn't want to allow the surgery for diabetics unless they are also obese. They will never change will they?

I saw that too--it was mind boggling. Obviously, there's a big missing link in our current understanding of type 2 diabetes, if all that has to happen is the duodenum is bypassed and bam! within one week no more diabetes, but re-connect it (as they did with the diabetic animals) and the diabetes returns. The duodenum must have a major role somehow in blocking or normalizing of cells' responses to insulin, if the diabetes can be turned on and off like a switch almost. Suddenly, people's pancreases are just fine--they must be, if they're having no more insulin problems, off all meds, etc.

Saw it too Sal. Perhaps it will be a catalyst for some research and investigation, if not here than elsewhere. What a nice paton [spelling?] that would be!

I've read that coconut oil, applied topically, kills MRSA-worth a try, given your situation.
Hope you'll post back and let us know if it works.

Thanks, Sally.

I think this is a breakthrough in our understanding of diabetes and possible early treatment towards "cure". Unfortunately, this breakthrough has happened too late for me since my problems are secondary organ failure from long standing diabetes and this surgical approach does not reverse this secondary damage.

So you don't need a duodenum? Or will that produce another problem.
Well, stemcells seem to be rebuilding organs, so you never know. Especially when Shrub (I love that) is replaced.

I had a bad looking spider bite too, and it cleared up once I taped a cotton ball with Witch Hazel on it. It would ooze every evening for about two weeks and once I put the Witch Hazel on it, it got better.

No Charles, wet it and stuck it to the area with a bandaid for about 45 minuntes the first time(I actually got busy and forgot it was there) and then later in the day did it a second time.

perhaps it only looked worse because it pulled toxins out.

I scrubed both areas and removed all the puss and yellowed tissue day before yesterday till it was ozzing blood and poured alcohol in the areas and allowed it to sit for several minutes then I patted them dry and covered with a bandaid with antibiotic ointment.. i repeated it lat night and today the swelling and the redness is down and there is no new oozing and it actually appears to be healing...

Scrubbing the heck out of them and drying them out totally seems to have a more positive effect than anything else I have tried. one id over 3/4" deep down into the fatty tissue and the second one is only about 1/4 inch deep both have open centers about 1/2" to 3/4" across then bordered with red inflammed tissues making the total lesion 1 to 1 1/2" across, not nearly as bad as what my son has been developing, but bad enough, to be sure... the pain associated with the lesions is intense....My heart goes out to my son and he has gone thru this over and over again recurrantly, each time with more and more areas.

Happy to say I have had improvement.

Thank you Vince, I thought of trying the cayanne, but I was in so much pain I just couldnt stomach the thought that it might HURT more.. now that I actually have some healing taking place and the nerves are not so "hot" I have some beeswax hand cream I will mix up with some dried cayanne and garlic powder.. I want to try it and see if it aids in healing..and hope to prevent it from flaring up again....

I put it on things that hurt Take Away the pain, and also heal. Look up Capsacin, and Substance P, supposedly the substance P is what makes us Feel pain, capsacin is supposed to deplete it. They Say the pain goes away till the P builds back up, but I never had pain come back, or infection. I add salt in water usually, but I scratched myself on the top of my shoulder, below my neck, and just rubbed some on dry, and it stopped hurting and healed. It was tender and oozing when I applied it.

I have added garlic to the cayenne in salt water I gargle with, which usually works fast, and with garlic it didn't do a thing, like the garlic blocked it from working.

If you don't keep it wet, the chemicals can't get into your body.
