opinions about moldy garlic please

hi

since around the winter, i have been without the benefits of my sole super supplement-- garlic. (no normal supplements--MCS-- i react to everything) all the garlic that i find in stores is moldy. (actually, it seems more like a fungus ?) three has definitely been something that seems to start at the top of the cloves in those little stringy like parts and goes down through the center of the cloves. it looks discolored and tastes weird, and we know that every organism has its characteristic parasites, so i have not been eating garlic...food mold is a horror, especially if your liver is already struggling with chemical overload issues...

is there anyone here with expertise in such plant questions ? thank you very much

Hi, leon.

I am an avid garlic user myself and so have seen what you are describing. I would not eat such "spoiled" produce. Besides it spoils the taste of what I am using it to season.

I have found that there is no perfect testing procedure to identify the spoiled produce at the store and so have been using "intuitive diagnosis" which has been pretty accurate for the past few years. I hold the whole bulb of garlic cloves in my hand and slip into alpha for a second.

Good luck,

Walt
