Has anyone ever heard of this product or used it? It's made by Nutritional Therapeutics and was recently given to me by my doctor as something new to try. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

This is going to be a long list NT is a proprietary food tablet base comprised of phospholipids,(enriched polyunsaturated phosphatidyl choline),glycolipids (saponins),garlic, para-amino benzoic acid, panthenine, defatted rice bran, l-arginine, glycine, leek, taurine, calcium boro gluconate, potassium citrate, beet root fiber, black strap molasses, lipoic acid, jerusalem artichoke (oligosacchaaarides), barley malt, spirulina, bromelain, calcium ascorbate, niacinimide, thiamine, riboflavin, pyroxidine, calcium pantothenate, niacin, cyanobalamin, bifidus, acidophilus, folic acid and cchrromium picolinate. Also contains per capsule small amounts of vit.E. calcium, phosophorous, maagnesium, alpha-ketoglutaric acid, l-carnitine, l-tartrate, l-tyrosine. Well, now I have to go back to bed - just kidding! What a list!! What do you think? I'd be really interested to know. Supposedly this is something relatively new on the market which my doc just heard about and thought I might give it a try. I started taking it yesterday. I can't really say anyting about it yet, but will keep you posted. Thanks, as always.
Naya.

Could I get your opinion on this supplement, too? Would really appreciate all the input I can get from those in the know. Thanks!

Thanks, Naya.
The general rule is the more variety in the diet the better.
This product seems to be trying to address this concept and, as such, might be a pretty good product to try. Remember that although one might notice benefits in a few days, the true benefits will not show themselves for a few months.
This STILL is not as good as an organic whole foods diet but they are pointing in that direction.
Let us know how you do.

Thanks a lot for your opinion. I've only been on it for two days, but it seems to be boosting my energy a little. I actually can feel quite a boost beginning one to two hours after I take it.

Please see complete list of ingredients in my post above to Walt. I'd also like your opinion on my strange reactions to this stuff. I was supposed to start out at 6 pills a day, but since I'm so sensitive, I started with one in the morning, one in the afternoon and one at night. Each time I almost fell asleep, so I increased the dosage and got real jittery and energized. Today, the third day, I was so jittery, I was shaking uncontrollably and feeling extremely depressed and my whole outlook on life had become really dark. This all happening despite twice a day SR. Do you think it could be the B vitamins, especially the niacin? I've had problems with B's since I've been sick with CFS, Candida, LGS, Fibro, just to refresh your memory. What do you think I should do - quit or try cutting back? Now I'm terrified about feeling again the way I felt today. This kind of reaction has happened to me with many supplements that have been recommended to me and have worked for everone else. I can't seem to tolerate any kinds of supplements, very few, anyway. I know if I tell my doc, he's just going to shake his head as another thing we tried goes down the tubes. It's so encouraging :-(
I desperately need some advice here. Please help! Thanks.

I feel that you are reacting to the amino acids in the product. Many of them can cause strange reactions in people that are sensitive. I can't take amino acid formula's for the same reason. They can make you either sleepy or jittery depending on when you take them and what foods you take them with. Certain foods amplify the effect of individual amino acids. I wouldn't take this unless I knew for sure that i was deficient or imbalanced in these nutrients. Only nutritional testing can shed light on that. The ORGANIX test from www.metametrix.com tests for vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, amino acids and a few other things. The test is very expensive but it would take the guess work out. Depending on the problem or imbalance, a compounding pharmacy would put a custom formula together for you based on the results. This is the most scientific way to do it. Even THEN, you can react badly if your system is sensitive. My advice is to get off the product and only take whole food supplements for a while. Gardenoflife products are expensive but you will not react to them (www.crohns.net)

Thanks for your observations. I still feel jittery and depressed and have been having obsessive thinking just in the past two days for no apparent reason. How long will these symptoms take to go away, do you think? I feel really awful!

shouldn't be more than a couple days. Increase your water intake but don't change anything else in your diet. You will be ok. This is a common symptom of amino acid supplementation for those that are sensitive. You won't die or anything :-) Hang in there!

Thanks for your reassurance and words of encouragement. I already feel like it's passing, but now I'm all dragged out. I'll keep drinking water!
