Helping You - Need some sweet advice

Posted by Miss Bliss on July 15, 2002 at 10:06:03:

Bought some sprouted rye bread. Thought I was doing the right thing. But lo and behold, I read on the packet that it converts into simple carbs, glucose to be exact. Shock! HOrror! No, not my bread, please, no, dont take that away from me too! :( And I was enjoying it so much!

So I guess that means I cant have it then, right? :( I do have Candida and I know any sugar(glucose) is just going to feed the little buggers.

Or maybe, just maybe, I could be wrong? (sigh of desperation)

Sensual (---feeling not so sweet---)

True sprouted grain breads tend to be treated more like a vegetable and less like a carb (in the body). My feelings are, if you are eating a low-carb diet with healthy protein, fats and non-starchy vegetbles as the mainstay of your diet, a 1-2 slices of sprouted grain breads are not likely to cause much problem for you, especially if you are avoiding most other grains and limiting your starches. Enjoy!

How do I know if its true sprouted bread? It says sprouted rye bread on the package. But it does taste slightly sweet and goes mouldy real quick too.

Something else I was hoping u could help me with. Last night I had a piece of steak, very rare, and I had indigestion for hours afterwards even tho I took enzymes. I dont want to eat red meat anymore if this keeps happening. It seems only when its rare I seem to have this problem.

Also, are you sure its a good idea to eat the fat with the steak? Wouldnt that make digestion more difficult?

Thanks Mr. HY.

Hi, Miss.

Listen to HY.

Sprouted grain bread DOES taste sweet because the sprouting enzymes & catalysts convert the starch into sugars for the plant to use to grow. HOWEVER, that means that all the trace stuff is there for the sprouting to take place; or it couldn't happen--which are the exact same things your Krebs Cycle needs to metabolize the carbs.

TOTALLY safe (So long as the other ingredients do not show additional sugars or refined grains added.)

Hope this helps.

Walt
