I did it! (resisted temptation)

Posted by CarbLover on February 28, 2003 at 15:12:46:

Sorry, but I just must pat myself on the back. Last night I relapsed and ate some verboten, wicked pasta (but it was SO good!). Today I was wanting some hot Krispy Kremes! YUMMM.. .

But, I resisted. Now I'm at home and will eat the good stuff I bought at the grocery store. I didn't buy a single processed item!

Yeah, I'm tootin' my own horn. ..

Good for you. Keep it up. There is life after carbo. I can honestly say my energy level is higher now than it has ever been before on a high protein low carbo diet.

I also notice the less I have of carbs, the less I crave them. Yes, also more energy. At first I use to get a boost from the carbs, and then become very sluggish afterwards.

Hi Carb Lover,

Congratulations!

You know what? I have three clients doing the PWFD or at least the WFD with me. We all agree that once you are on the PWFD for a while, the food on the diet all of a sudden becomes SO INTERESTING and delicious that we've all grown an INTENSE PASSION for eating now!!! We never had that kind of passion before when eating that garbagy stuff! This kind of interest in food is wonderful! Now we don't want to eat any of that old yucky stuff -- it would be like eating cardboard or something! Ick!

Best wishes,
Happygal

Exactly! Carbohydrates give you a sudden burst of energy and then it is lethargy. Proteins on the other hand ensure a slow release of enerygy that can sustain one through out the day. For me it was easy, I am allergic to gluten and sugar. That took care of almost every carbo related food.

Do you find it difficult following a NO carb diet? I take it that means no complex carbs either????

Anyway, last night I was out for dinner at mums house, and there was one of her dishes that I remember from my childhood. But it had rice in it! white rice. So I didnt have any. I had mostly chicken, and some beef and some veg.

Oh well, better than nothing I guess! :(

I do include a little rice in my diet, like about 1/4 of a cup. It does not seem to affect me. Basically if I want to eat carbohydrates, I eat it for breakfast as I exercise every morning, and I believe your body easily absorbs carbos after exercise. I cant eat many vegetables because of the Vit. K content.

Green Tea CAN block carbohydrates and fats from being absorbed when taken with the same meal. I don't know how well it works if weight loss is your goal but it won't hurt.

Also, most green-tea extracts are caffeine-free

Thanks, Happygal.

This is a nearly universal experience. I had the same.

Namaste`

I had never thought about green tea being beneficial. In Malaysia, chinese tea is routinely served with every meal(when you eat out, which is something we do regularly here)!
