but I'm so close to loose my confidence. I have been following the candida restricted pwfw diet know since the beginning of February 03. I'm sure I have really followed instructions 100% for at least the first 5 weeks. Then I starded to take supplements which had some lactose or starch in the tablet. But still in very small amounts. So I would say since then I have done pwfd for 90%. So shouldnt I have felt at least a little bit better? I feel as worse as when I started. Have a lot of flatulence since (which i hadnt before) and they discovered know I got ndh-clostridia.
I think with all I have done I should at least have felt a little bit of relieve. But I feel worse. My CFS has increased, and I'm close to give up.
I got the relax book and the Loiselle book and the Stoll book. I am on trying to relax 20 minutes twice a day. But even If I sit there I am not able to relax more than a couple of minutes. But I try to create the right waves when I think of it. Still I think even without the relaxing I should have felt at least a LITTLE BIT better, right?
thank you anyway for your sincere helpintention

stop taking the supplements!
That is what's messing you up. If you are trying to break an addiction and/or get rid of candida, even TINY amounts of refined stuff will keep you in withdrawal. That is what is happening to you.
Many people don't need supplements at all. Wait until you are feeling better and then try using the supplements, and shop for those that do not contain offending ingredients. If you react to something, you just can't take it every day.
Of course, teh clostridia may be causing these symptoms as well.

Although I agree with your appraisal of the situation, I don't agree that "most people don't need supplements". If your goal is merely to live a semi-healthy life in hopes of avoiding the ravages of aging, you MAY be able to get away with it but if your goal is to slow the aging process, and live in a state of OPTIMAL health, it just can't be done without supplements. The individual would need to eat 3-4 home-prepared meals per day, making sure to include freshly pressed vegetable juice, raw foods, lactofermented foods, omega-rich meats/eggs, drinking enough pure, and avoiding pollution, stress, refined foods, and negativity to achieve optimal health without supplements. However, most people do not eat this way day in and day out. Even if they do, it is difficult to get some of the nutrients that have been shown to slow the aging process in ordinary foods. Just the way foods are grown, shipped, and stored depletes nutrients. Taking supplements is almost a necessity for anyone wishing to slow the aging process, reverse a disease, or achieve optimal health. Take fish oil for example. You MUST take a supplement. If you choose to get your fish oil from a food source, you would get an overabundance of mercury, PCB's and metals. Taking the supplements is absolutely necessary. Having said that, it's not an easy task to choose the right supplements. This should be done based on testing, symptoms, and conditions, and genetics. Most people do not choose supplements wisely. Anyway, I just felt the need to reply to that. Take care

I have been following the diet 100% perfectly for 5 weeks (almost everything bought at the organic-store, spent a lot of money!). THEN I started take supplements! If you dont believe there is no advice you can give me. thats whats so frustating, I feel completely misunderstood. I should at least have felt a little bit better. But I dont. My CFS/Fibromyalgy has persisted and a big frustration has joined....

Thanks, HY.
Finally, after 100 years of calling anyone who recommended supplements a quack, even the AMA now recommends a daily multiple. Of course their knowledge is so primitive that it will be years before most people get good advice. I believe that that is so the AMA can say: "See how little difference it makes!"

Actually, Mara, I am surprised that you are not feeling worse with what you are describing here.
I am appalled that I have explained this so poorly that you do not understand what you are doing.
I congratulate you for having tried but you really do not understand the process.

"to include freshly pressed vegetable juice"
how can you press the vegetable juice, with a rolling pin perhaps?

Are you saying that someone trying to kill candida should not be taking ANY supplements at all while doing so? What about meds for Candida?

I think we see eye to eye on this HY.
I phrased it that way because many here who start on a wellness program start taking everythign under the sun. If it's not metabolically appropriate, or it's not the best quality (additives, etc.) or if it's not something they DO need, it can actually cause problems instead of helping.
Additionally, I know that while I was working with Bob McFerran, he observed that when he told people to stop their supplements, many of them felt better. Again, sometimes because of food sensitivites to ingredients in the supps.

No, J0on, I'm not saying that.
But you do need to be careful what you take and research wether you really need it or not, read ingredients, etc. Just going out and taking a bunch of multi vitamins won't necessarily help you either.
It's helpful to know your metabolic type and your food allergies and sensitivities, if any.
Personally, I did the elimination diet, used Nystatin and avoided all fruit and grains for around 8 months or so...I think I was taking Ester C, E, cod liver oil, an oil blend, and (horrors) a B-Complex. I also was doing SR faithfully 2x a day for 20 minutes at least, and exercising.
Sorry for all the confusion with my post.

Hi Mara,
Do not give up. Continue to do the relaxation for twenty minutes, twice a day until you figure out how to do it. Go back to being perfect on the diet, without any starches in supplements, etc. Keep working on this until you start to feel better. This is not a "quick fix" -- true healing takes time.
Best wishes,
Happygal

Hi, Jon.
For example, the way cider is classically produced is with a "cider press".

Mara, if I recall, after conducting a poll at this site on the reliability of the spit test, you found a doctor in your country to guide your healing. His approach was rather different than Walt's. Are you still under his care?
Hell is paved with good intentions. Following a protocol 90% isn't good enough. Would that work in industry or technology? No. Imagine trying to build a nuclear power plant and following the directions 90%. Would you expect to get a safe and functional plant? No. I think if you want results with this difficult disease syndrome, you will need to drastically up the rigor and intelligence with which you approach its treatment. In the archives there are many stories of people spending YEARS treating their Candida/Leaky Gut with little success, because they didn't believe they had to be so rigorous in diet, SR and exercise.
Imagine their frustration. You don't want that to happen to you. Good luck, Mara.

Most people just use a juicer/juice extractor ;-)

Hi Mara,
Five weeks? Not long enough.
How is your SR practice coming along? You need to do that, too, if you want to see improvement.
Best wishes,

Mara,
This is described in every section about this on this website. It is described in Beth's book--also in mine. I do not know how else I can say it. Just a trace of refined carbohydrate keeps the withdrawal going and slows results to years and not days or weeks. You, yourself, described your efforts at 90%. Practically everyone will feel worse at 90% [and worse yet at 99%] for at least 6-12 months.
When you have done your homework let us know what you have learned. Perhaps that is where we need to start.
Walt
