Out to l;unch today, and I had rice with red kidney beans and salad.
I noticed that right after eating, how my energy level dropped, and I was almost ready to hit the sack.
Now, that I no longer eat refined carbs, this never happens to me. Even when I was away on vacation, and all there was to eat was french fries, I didn't experience this fatigue.
I reckon that it was just from refined carb overload, or carb overload. You know, rice and red kidney beans. a double carb whammy.k
Anyone else get this after a heavy c arb meal?
hasn;t happened to me in ages

I guess it's possible...but I'm of the school that a simple meal like that should not effect you so strongly...
I'm really of the mindset that a healthy body isn't as sensitive to minor food combinations... especially since the beans provided protien as well...
Is it possible you were just tired and it was coincidence?
I'd try it again and see if you did feel this way... after lunchtime is the typical "down" time so it may have been coincidence.

Eeeeek. Hate to bring it up - but pregnancy could ALSO cause quick drop offs ! Per the symptoms, if I were you - period or not, I'd get tested :)

Hey Blissy,
How are things Down Under?
I get that also if I eat a heavy carb meal. Doesn't matter what time of day. You need to have some protein with the carbs (beans don't count).

All i can say is rice makes me really tired, fries do not for some reason. (Maybe cause rice is a grain)

Thanks, Michele.
While breaking a refined carbohydrate addiction, if one is perfect with the PWFD (the only way to reliably break the addicition--in my experience), for the first 6 months any trace will have an exagerateed reaction. I have seen it in my patients and have experienced it in myself!
If one is not being perfect, the addiction is not being resolved AND the occasional "breaking over" will not have such an exagerated response.
Hope this helps.
