Don't know if I have overlooked something, but I was thinking what this site needs is a favorite recipes archive we (& any newcomers) can access on an ongoing basis...whattya think?

Try Beth Loiselle's book, The Healing Power of Whole Foods, as mentioned on this bb.

Here's one of mine:
Ingredients:
1 cup millet
1 onion
1 red pepper
2 cups of fresh spinach
1 tablespoon butter
1/4 tsp salt (or to taste)
1 1/2 lbs shrimp
Cook millet (1 cup to 3 cups water, about 40 minutes). Melt
butter in a frying pan. Chop onion, red pepper and add it, along
with the spinach to the frying pan and brown/reduce. Add this
to the millet.
Cook shrimp (about 2 minutes) in boiling water, peel and add to
the mix and stir it all up. Salt (and pepper) to taste.
Substitutions: Quinoa for Millet (1:2 for 20 minutes), scallops
cooked in butter or coconut oil.
That's one of mine.

That book is definately on my list to get, but until I can afford it, it would be nice to have some recipes that people use and like. I am sure there are others that don't have access to that book yet as well. Thanks for the indorsement, I will eventually get it.

Hi Everyone,
Beth Loiselle also has some recipes on her website, and people can submit recipes to her to post. I bet she would be delighted if you would send some recipes to her!
Beth's website address and link is below. I've put a few recipes on her website already!
Best wishes,
Jan

Thanks, I'll check out her site. So far, the only recipie I've tried
making (perfectly) turned out awful... Creole Limas. Maybe there
was a typo in the quantity of thyme, but the flavor of thyme and
green peppers was so overwhelming I had to trash it.
I'll consider it a fluke, because I like lima beans.
I can see I'm still going to have some challenges. I was in the
mood for something different and some "legal" bread. Reading
the ingredients on Ezekiel bread 4-9 it looked okay, bought
some and had it with a vegetable dinner. But the next day when
I found it in the book it was an "no" on PWFD because of an
ingredient that I didn't know was not allowed. Sheesh, looks like
I'm gonna hafta carry that heavy book around when I want to try
some other "prepared" products.
I don't think any harm done having the bread (in my case), but
better to be safe than sorry.

Eric, I just got some Ezekiel Bread(I wouldn't call it "bread"!) We have eated it all but the last piece, so I guess it's safe :) to ask you, "What is the ingredient we aren't supposed to have?"

In Beth's book there is a section which lists foods by brands
with a yes, no, or avoid designation. For the Ezekiel Bread she
puts a "no" on the PWFD because of "malt barley." And I went
back and read the ingredients... and there it was.
I think, but am not sure, that malt barley provides sweetness, in
other words, is sugar... but that is just a guess. I'm also
guessing that this is a restriction for the "perfect" version of the
diet, because the other ingredients certainly fall under the
whole food category.

next time, don't trash the limas, just dump them in a strainer and wash them under running water to get rid of the spices. Then reheat in a skillet with a little olive oil or butter .
