Amazing, isn't it? It takes 80 years for politically correct science to discover that refined grains are not good for the human body and that whole, unprocessed grains are more healthful! Grandma was right all along,eh? What's next? Refined sugar and vegetable oil is unhealthy, too?
Do they mention that grains, even whole grains, contain problematic enzyme inhibitors and phytic acid unless they are properly prepared (soaking, fermenting and sour leavening) the way traditional peoples have been making them for thousands of years?

Hi Wildcard, i didn't realise that whole grains must be prepared a certain way.
companies are using many different terms to imply healthiness but providing little to that effect. some are going down the road of half wholegrain/half refined grain. even the wholegrain bread i buy i discovered had sugar in. i think i'll start making my own eventually.
luckily i found wholewheat pasta easily.

I am constantly fighting my cravings for pasta. Refined carbs of any kind, really. I was doing so well, and then when I was pregnant a couple of years ago my whole diet went out the window. Phoey on me. Thanks for the smack upside the head--I need to do better.
