flower essences, high alcohol content, and PWFD

Posted by dfs on August 16, 2001 at 12:09:53:

I'm interested in seeing what these flower essences are about, but their alcohol content prohibits ingesting them. What about putting them in bath water- is that permissible?

essential oils (not the fatty acids)....

I've just been toying around with essential oils in my bath water and they are extremely potent -- only drops of the pure oil are needed. I wonder if the flower essences come in a pure form? I would think that you could add the the ones with alcohol into the bath water, but then you're probably paying too much.

Hopefully someone that knows about this stuff will be able to answer your question!

Here's a link on how to prepare them

You can ingest them directly, a couple of drops at a time for emergency use. With pets they can also be applied to the skin, such as on the ears, on the paw pads, or under the fur along the spine.

Most people add a couple of drops of the pure, preserved remedy to their drinking water. If you are combining remedies or don't want the alcohol taste or effect, you can mix them ahead of time with spring water in a dropper bottle and either take those drops directly and add to water. A few drops in a tub full of water would probably be ineffective and it would definitely be a waste of money. The bottles are generally $7-9 each and hold 10mL (0.35 oz). They are meant to be used in small quantities.

dfs, a P.S. for you

Sorry, I didn't know what PWFD was. I thought it was a disease or something :) After looking at another post I'm guessing that it stands for the whole food diet.

Maybe you could try the flower essences directly on your skin. They also can be added (about 8-12 drops of each essence) to 8 ounces of spring water in a spray/mister bottle, then spritz your skin after you dry off from the shower..

You can get flower essences preserved in vinegar instead of alcohol. Go to www.perelandra-ltd.com to find the Perelandra site. Perelandra makes very high quality flower and other nature essences. I highly recommend all the work that Machaelle Small Wright (the founder)is doing.

Cindy,

Do you know what kind of vinegar it is? If it's apple cider vinegar, then I can use them internally.

Unfortunately, it's distilled white vinegar, derived from grain. The essences can also be gotten preserved in brandy which is not manufactured with any grains; they say that it's gluten free (my concern). Generally you're only using a couple of drops of each essence (a very small quantity, as Nutmeg pointed out in her post) and you can dilute them up further in water and consume only a small portion of the dilution, so I don't think you're actually getting very much alcohol.

Hi, dfs.

Everyone had good ideas.

Remember that aroma therapy with the pure essences also works.

The only reason to avoid the traces of alcohol or distilled vinegar that might be in these products is if you are trying to break the immunlolgical addiction to refined carbohydrates. Even then, if you are perfect with the PWFD, you could have traces in about 6 months without risk.

Hope this helps.

Walt
