Whole Food Diet Novice

Dr. Stoll et al,

I am 8 days into the PWFD. So far the most remarkable change has been the complete cessation of food cravings. Before, I thought there was just some glitch in me that made me want to munch constantly - now I'm convinced the food cravings were my body's attempts to regulate blood sugar levels.

I initially was attracted to the PWFD because it was becoming more and more evident that eating sugary foods was very bad for me - I would have a nasty reaction shortly after eating - heavy head, sluggishness, sensitivity to light and the desire to sleep, sleep, sleep! Those have disappeared now - and I feel more alert.

A few questions, though - For the past week, I have noticed that my complexion (which was always fine) has changed. In addition to several large blemishes (which is very unusual for me), I have a rough patch of bumps on my chin. Any idea what this is coming from?

I read the previous posts on the skin irritation which can result from the wrong toothpaste - and have had sensitivities to toothpastes in the past. However, the one I'm using now has never given me problems - and the only questionable ingredient in it is glycerin. This also has no bearing on the blemishes - which are on my right cheek area.

Any input or suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance,
Frances

Hi, Frances.

Thanks for your testimonial. There has never been any question that this works; only if one can get the individual to do it right. Testimonials seem to convince more people than anything I can say.

Even though you are moving in a very healthy direction, the sudden shift in direction always is an adjustment and sometimes causes some of the symptoms you are experiencing.

This is REALLY a good sign since it documents how well you are doing and is a pretty good indication of the final benefits you will get. Be assured that this is temporary.

For the next 6 months it is really important that you stay perfect since before that getting off the diet could easily send you right back to where you were before you started. After the 6 months, you would do well to continue being perfect for another year but at least if you stumbled you would just feel bad for a few days so long as you got right back on it. Eventually, your bodymind will reset itself at a healthier homeodynamic and THEN, it will be hard for you to get sick. Of course, if you abuse yourself long enough, you CAN still use up all the benefits you have accumulated.

SO, learn how to spice whole foods and you will prefer eating this way to the way you were before.

Let us know how you do. You can be an inspiration to others who are still sitting on the fence.

Namaste`

Walt

Frances,
Perhaps there is some food you are eating that, even though a whole food, is something you are sensitive to. Did you ADD anything new when you eliminated all the bad?

Example- There are dairy products which are acceptable as whole foods, but, for me, i found much more improvement in my skin when i eliminated them. Also - remember to get enough essential fatty acids.
Best of everything
Lisa
