Some time ago you mentioned that the metabolic diets offered in the quick reference guide on this site are not current or correct, and that you would see about organizing the info into its correct form. Any progress on this?? I understand you're busy with many changes in your life, so if it'll take a while, no problem. Just hope it's coming eventually. How about Robert's book--is there a publishing date yet? THAT'S what I'm really waiting for!
Thanks so much for your warm & positive presence on this BB.

Jen B.
I had talked to Bob about him getting his own version of the diets to me so I could post it here and have it archived. Life happened, however - his computer monitor blew up, he was in the process of moving (he's been in THAT process for some time now, as have I) and so was completely off line for a couple of weeks, and he ultimately decided to get a new computer, which sounded like a good idea, but with the move, there was some confusion with his billing address and mailing address...some beaurocratic stuff...yadda yadda yadda :-)
He is just now transferring info to his new machine!
However, the good news is that our friend and long time board participant, Deb has a beautifully organized site with chapters of the book and all the diet information on all of Bob's diets, not to mention an excellent overview of most major diets that are out there! Way to go, Deb.
I hope this board will add a link to her site.
I told Deb to go ahead and post the link, as I'm not sure how to do it since I had to forward her message to my home from my work, and lost the actual link...
hope this helps.

p.s. no date for the book yet, work has been interrupted by the aforementioned "life" stuff, but should commence soon, as the dust will begin to settle.

Hi Jen & others,
Here is the link to my food page. Thanks for your kind words about it, trish. Just scroll down till you find the metabolic diet link and away you go.
Until Bob's book is underway, he and trish have suggested a more permanent link somewhere on this site. What do you think, Bill?
Deb.

Hi, Deb
Found your website very interesting and saved it on my computer as well.
While waiting for my PCP this morning read a brief article he had tacked on the wall ref to Dr Atkins Diet.
Advised that the diet did indeed help lose weight at a fast rate, however, warned about it causing dehydration & diarrhea.
I didn't have the time this morning to speak with my doctor about it as stopped in for copies of my records. Will be able to at my scheduled appointment this saturday.
Do you have any further information on this warning about the atkins diet?

Hi Paulette,
I hadn't heard about that, but would be interested in hearing anything you find out.
Dr Atkins himself does say that his diet is an unbalanced one, but deliberately, to offset previous imbalances the other way. That's why he has different stages to it, as you come into balance.
To me it seems that anyone with an Agriculturist metabolism would do badly on it, and I don't imagine the symptoms would be limited to those two. Someone with an HG metabolism would do well on it, as long as they stayed off the dairy he is so fond of.
We have two womena t work who run the cafeteria, and who are sisters. One did the Atkins diet, felt great and lost weight. The other then tried it, felt really ill, and sent her cholesterol sky-rocketing. So it's all individual.
Have a good BB break,
Deb.
