some questions on the elimination diet.

Posted by Kirsten on June 15, 2001 at 04:34:50:

i don't have a chronic illness, would the e-diet be helpful for me, i have acne and frequent heartburn and headaches and fatigue. could this be caused by food allergies?

also i don't have much money, could i drink filtered water instead of spring water? and can i continue taking vit b5 and st johns wort and omega 3 supplements such as flax oil?

also are there any other fish that can be eaten besides the 3 listed in the archives? they are not available here fresh (perth, australia) nor are turnips and i've never heard of rugabata.

thanks for any advice.

Hi, Kirsten.

I would catagorize acne, headaches, frequent heartburn and fatigue as "chronic illnesses".

The only way you can find out how much your diet might be contributing to your persent symptoms would be to first learn exactly how to do this experiment on yourself and THEN spend a few months doing it.

Filtered water (I use reverse osmosis) is better than spring water.

Ok to continue taking the herbs that you are taking but just don't change anything (other that what you are testing) while you are doing the testing.

Making sense?

Let us know what you learn.

Walt
