UpDate on My Healing of Dysautonomia

Posted by Maria Bliss [4.275] on April 30, 2004 at 08:57:48:

I have been practising meditation now for almost a month.

I was initially motivated into practising it when I realized that the symptoms I was experiencing was dyautonomia, as Walt had said.

So, after he said this, I went and buried myself knee deep in the archives. It was well worth it!

He sure was right that was what i had. The symptoms correlated with what I read. When I read how bad it can get, I was determined to do something about it,, and from everything I read that meant getting serious about Meditation/SR.

So ALMOST everyday I have been meditating twice a day. I have probably missed about one day of meditation in almost a month.

To date, ALL my symptoms of dysautonomia have GONE! I just noticed in the last week, that the last symptom, (excess sweating) which wasn't budging and was lingering, has now totally disappeared.

I can only put it down to being consistent and discipline with meditation/SR.

I am finding little tricks to keep me motivated such as:

I wont meditate the exact same way everytime.

What I mean by this is: I use different music/relaxation tapes and cd's. I will use centerpointe, I will practise transcendental meditation, all to keep my interest in continuing meditation.

Nowadays, I am making meditation my PRIORITY.

It comes before everything else. Such as if I only have a certain amount of time on my hands and say, I have to choose between meditation or exercise, or meditation and sleep, I will choose meditation. This is the way I stay disciplined and focused, and its working a treat.

I am so pleased with my improvement, but not just in getting rid of dysautonomia. I am also noticing an improvement in other areas of my life.
Much more relaxed, confident, happier, and dealing with stress MUCH more effectively. Sure there is the same amount of stressful situations around me, and my life is not perfect, but it's my reaction ot any stressful events. I am taking things in stride, and in a calm relaxed manner.

So my stress tolerance meter is much higher, and I am very pleased with the improvements so far.

Kind Regards,

Way to go maria - you sound like you are doing meditation like the ancient wise spiritual leaders - on YOUR time on YOUR terms. :)

It's great to hear you found a way to conquer this, the symptoms can be truly bizarre. Youre an example of the power of self-healing, correcting one's own body/mind dis-ease without help from an allopath! They must be kicking up the dirt up right now!

Hi peterb

Truly, the symptoms of dysautonmia can be bizarre. I didin't realize until reading in the archives.Actually, I didnt know what dysaut. was until I got it!

I think I was "lucky" with my symptoms when I read what others have been suffering as dysautonomia progresses. It can get pretteeeee bad!

I think I nipped it in the bud, so to speak, but I still got to stay focused. Once I started readinv up in the archives about the progression of the disease, I knew that's not where I wanted to go. It seemed that SR/meditation was the way to stop it in it's tracks before doing more damage to my health.

I started to get a LITTLE worried when the excess sweating wasn't improving quick enough (after several weeks) for me. I had gotten rid of the other problems; the sleep issues, the heart racing, the shakiness with sleep, the pulsations, but the sweating continued. I am VERY thankful that I can now happily say, the symptoms are all gone!! (Phew!;)

I am staying focused with my meditation, at twice a day 30mins per session.

I can't wait to receive my biofeedback machine from the wellness ranch, just to have that added confirmation/verification on my meditation.

P.S. No, I wouldnot hsave gone to the MD for this. I already know what their attitude would have been. No thanks!! ;)
