High doses of ester C will knock out the "virus" and if its not a virus, large doses of an easily digestable magnesium supplement should help the inflamation of the nerves in the inner ear. I had both intravenously and they helped tremendously!

Thanks Barbara. I'm going to try the ester C. My doc says it's a virus, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I have an elderly aunt who is stricken with labrynthitis and the last time she had it, she was in bed for 3 months.

Yeah I was on the couch for weeks with it. Make sure you take HIGH doses...up to bowel tolerance. Good luck!

I am sure you are familiar with the old joke about doctors: Everything they cannot explain is caused by a "virus".

There has never been any proof that any case of labyrinthitis is caused by a "virus".

Docs just say that since nearly all resolve themselves within a couple of weeks and no known conventional treatment makes any difference.

It is the recurrent and persistant cases that something CAN be done about.
