itching in ear

I get a deep itching in my ear,drives me mad and feels like I have a bug in my ear,wakes me up sometimes.I have to put my finger in my ear and try and shake my ear to stop the irritation,feel like a dog when I do this but its very annoying.I get a lot of crackling to in my ears what is this please and what can I do

sounds like fluid. My advice - Olive oil in the ear with a bit of garlic oil in it.

Food, inhalant, etc., allergies can cause this. I also have this problem. I whip out a Q-tip.

Hi, Carolwendy.

Ears are something that just have to be examined to make a diagnosis.

Itching, by definition must be in the ear canal since you would not feel irritation behind the ear drum. That means the most likely is eczema (a common place for it to start) and tne next most likely is inspissated wax in the canal (See the archives.)
