Ebstein Barr Syndrome

I don't feel good. I went to the Dr. with unexplained "water on the knee". I am so tired and I ache. I requested blood test for ebstein barr. The EBV Capsid AB IGG came back 3.0 positive. The Dr.'s response was, "You've been exposed to the virus just like 90% of our population and left it at that. I had severe mono as a teenager. I am now 54 and feel like facing another day is just a big struggle. Another test, BUN/Creatine Ratio came back out of range at 36. I know that this has something to do with the kidneys. I feel as though my present Dr. doesn't take any of this seriously and I am scared. Can you explain these tests to me and tell me if I have epstein barr? Thank you for any response you can give me. Leslie in Ct.

Hi Leslie!

Why don't you take some time and cruise around on this website? Dr. Stoll will respond in a short time, but there is already a ton of info here at your fingertips. Go to the top right corner of the bulletin board and find the articles on health. Go there and start reading - start with EBV, but you will find that that will lead to another subject, and so on. Many others here have your same problems.

You can feel better again, but your doctor probably won't help you. He doesn't know enough. You have to learn it for yourself, and you've come to a great place to start. BUT, you have to do a lot of your own studying here. On the upside, there' a lot fo people here who are willing to help and listen.

Good luck and I hope you feel better.

Hi, Leslie.

Listen to trish!

Your persent doc is giving you good advice so far as it goes. Your EBV is NOT the problem. If you listen to trish, you will be on the right path toward understanding what is behind this kind of complex of symptoms.

Your doc's problem is that he is a classical allopath who only looks at the trees. His training doesn't even consider the forest. SO, he is not going to be concerned until your symptoms are a LOT more serious. These more serious symptoms can AND SHOULD be prevented but you are going to have to become a student of what is going on with you to do that.

Let us know when you have more questions.

Walt

It was news to me (yes I've still got sooooo much to learn!), but Walt says that any virus that you get infected with sticks around inside you (at least in small quantities) for the rest of your life.

All you need to do is let your immune reserves dwindle, and that virus can take over you again. Thus his emphasis on building immune system reserves, wellness, etc.

Hi, Debra.

If you were not told why you got it the first time, so you could change that, it is almost inevitable that you would eventually get it back. Have you read the archives about EBV?

Hi, RHJ.

This bit of knowledge has been accepted by conventional medicine for about 100 years.

I don't think I said it was NEW, nor WRONG, just (recent) news to me. In fact when I asked my RN wife about it later, she said that it was true.

If this "virus are always within you" thing was common knowledge, then it seems clear that no one would ever talk about CURING AIDS, just about maximizing one's immune system reserves and thereby minimizing the liklihood the virus would cause harm, for one example.

Or about "catching" a cold when we know that cold is a virus. Therefore we can "catch" a cold at a moment's notice with no additional exposure.

Anyway I was not aware that this understanding about viruses was widely accepted, much less "common knowledge".

And if it was common knowledge, why would the person who asked this original question need to ask it at all? Obviously someone other than me (before recently, thanks to this discussion board!) was uninformed of this virus "fact".

Thanks, RHJ.

Of course you are right. I just had to bring up the fact that not every "outlandish" statement I make on this BB is a new concept.

This is not common knowledge for the same reasons that the monopoly wants to keep its monopoly. What possible advantage to the medical profession is it for people to know this? The monopoly decides what it wants the public to think on the basis of how much good it will do the profession NOT how much good it will do the public.

If this were common knowledge, people might just begin to think about keeping their personal immunities up. Since the monopoly has arranged it so insurance will not pay for education or prevention, where is the money in that?
