Hi, Stephanie.
Part of the function of the liver is as a big, albeit complicated, lymph node. It is almost always involved with Mono to more or less extent.
Other than not riding in a car till the liver and spleen go back to normal size (to avoid risk of blunt trauma with an accident) I would ignore it.

Hello Dr., may I ask why you would ignore the liver infected with mono conclusion? I would think that could be serious, given chronic EBV mono is linked to at least 4 cancers, MS, Lupus and a major problem with AIDS patients?
Thank you for any answer, I have studied the EBV abstracts of research for three years, and having the EBV, CFS/FMS diagnosis myself, I see quite a few people who have, indeed, serious dibilitating, organ dysfunctions due to EBV. There is alot of research going on in Japan, because they have a bigger problem with it than here, including youths that have been hospitalized because they are so ill, even as toddlers. Many ending up with hodgkins lymphoma and blood disorders. I am really perplexed at how western med doctors ignore this.
Thank you,
Linda

Thanks, EB girl.
You are looking at the horse from the wrong end. EBV does not contribute to any of those things. People with stressed immune systems tend to have all of them.
"Post hoc, ergo propter hoc." (after this, therefore because of this.) is such a common medical error of thinking that it is a byword of the allopathic paradigm.
If you would simply practice serious wellness for a year all of your symptoms would disappear.
Let us know how you do.
