I was diag. with acute ebv about 4 mths ago. I am trying to find out everything I can about this because I can't take my doc saying get rest and theres nothing else to do but wait it out! I am going to change my diet, lifestyle and read your book, but there is one thing I cannot do...that's get enough rest!! I have a 14 mth old son, my husband works days and I work midnights, full time! I try to get sleep but the avg is 5 or 6 hrs a night and when I try to take a nap when the rugrat does, all I do is dream so it is not restfull sleep. I have a few ques:
Could the onslought of my EBV be from my pregnancy and childbirth?
I was in good health, excercised and ate right before I got pregnant then all of a sudden after I kept getting recurrent sinus infections...allergies is what my doc said.
Should I start working out again, maybe slowly at first, or would that wear down my system even more?
If I can, what kind of activity (besides chasing around a toddler) would you suggest?
I really hope you and your book can help me to get well. I don't want to feel like this anymore, I want to be able to enjoy my son's life! Sorry this is so long! Thank you!

Hi, Stephanie.
I am a little confused: "Acute EBV" is normally called mononucleosis. The recurrent and chronic form of EBV is called Chronic EBV. There is a world of difference in the approaches to each.
Once one has "mono" It is like trying to lock the barn door after the horse had been stolen. The primary options then are relaxing (Of course, Skilled Relaxation is a lot more effective than just lying there or sleeping.) AND at least 50 grams of vitamin C IV per day for 5 days. OR, one can try to get enough esterified vitamin C in orally to do this (vitamin C to tolerance--loose stools--usually about 15 milligrams a day [in divided doses]) within a couple of weeks.
If one has chronic EBV, you need to improve your wellness to resolve that (See wellness, SR and EBV in the archives and glossary.)
THEN, if you still have questions, write again.
