Dr. Stoll,
I have read over the notes on your web page but still have a question or two.
Approximately 1.5 years ago I came down with Mono. I am a 32 year old female. My health and imune system had suffered from too much stress and therefore I believe I was open to contracting the virus. I have worked hard at changing my lifestly to heal but still after all this time suffer from chronic cold symptoms (if I stop taking strong vitamins daily)one mini cold after the other which seems to sit in the thoracic area, my right tonsil has been swollen since day one and at times still creates such tension it radiates to my right ear and eye, extreme tightness in my right jaw / joint area, throat, tightness in the thoracic area to right chest and arm (swollen lymph nodes under right arm more predominant)...
I thought after a year max. the symptoms would go away but I seem to get recurring bouts of the symptoms listed above... My doctor says its normal but I am tired of the constant tension in my neck and ear area...
Is this normal?
Is there anything I should be worrying about?
Can this develop into any other health issues?
Does mono sit in the body like this and is it normal to sit on one side more than the other?
What else can I do?
Awaiting advice,
Jana

Hi, Jana.
If you had a burn on your arm, and you held your arm in the flame, how long would it be before your burn would get better? Since you have not been told, nor have you learned it by yourself, what caused your condition in the first place, what makes you think that it would improve? In actuality, it has actually gotten worse--exactly what you would expect with your burnt arm in the hypothetical situation above.
This is NOT your fault but the fault of the "professionals" from whom you have been getting your advice. "Your doctor says this is normal". He is just ignorant of what is going on and is trying to reassure you.
First: what, exactly, have you done to improve your lifestyle? How are you doing with your SR?
I will answer your questions in the order in which you have offered them:
1. NO.
2. You need to be seeing your system from a different perspective--all of your symptoms are caused by the same set of causes.
3. YES.
4. Unless your body can keep the virus penned up inside the cells, what else CAN it do but hang around in the rest of your body? The body ALWAYS evidences any systemic condition more on one side than the other.
5. Let me know exactly what you are presently doing and I can answer this.

Hi Dr. Stoll,
Thank you for your response. I hadn't checked for it in a while because I remember a notice saying your site would be down.
Here are more answers:
What have I done to improve my lifestyle?
Back in September I decided to begin freelancing from home. I am more in control of my daily hours but I still to this day sleep an incredible amount of time at all hours of the day. I have been doing this since September, spending time sleeping and pampering myself. But to be truthful I think I am forgetting to look at the overall picture and remember that it has been almost 1 and a half years since I had full mono and of feeling run down and sore on the right side of my throat.
Now I work out regularily (5 days a week). It has gotten easier to push myself. The same time last year I took two to three months off from the gym all together when any chest exercises caused numbness down my arms.
I now take large amounts of vit. C, E, magnesium, multi's. I eat extremely healthy by following a Diabetic Type Diet although I am not a diabetic.
The mini colds have subsided a little but I am just coming out of a strep throat cold which was again really bad on the right side of my throat. The lump in my throat is solid and when I apply pressure it flares up to my ear and eye. I try not to take any medications other than neocitron because I want my body to fight it. The lymph gland under my right arm has not been bothering me at all in the last few weeks.
My Dr. now thinks I have a mandibular problem like grinding my teeth or something like that. But as I sit here and try to evaluate the problem internally I just don't think that is it. My muscle tightness is a symptom of whats going on internally.
You asked about my SR? Dont know what you mean here.
I look forward to hearing what you have to say. Again I really appreciate your opinion.
Regards, Jana

Hi, Jana.
Seems you have many things well in hand so far as your wellness is concerned. The glaring gap in your program is exactly the most important part you need to elminiate everything you have mentioned: SR. Use the glossary, search engine, homepage and archives for SR and become a student of it.
THEN, when you have more questions, write again. Pay special attention to the many testimonials of people whose problems cleared up when they added this skill to their lives.
